STEVENS POINT, Wis. (AP) A woman offered another $4,000 to kill her husband, who survived despite being shot four times, authorities said Friday.

Portage County District Attorney Tom Eagon said three people — Linda Dietze, 23, of Plover, Carlos Cummings, 25, of Stevens Point, and the victim's wife, Carla Glodowski, 43, of Rosholt — were each jailed on $50,000 cash bond after appearing via video Thursday in Portage County Circuit Court.

Judge Thomas Flugaur ruled prosecutors presented enough evidence to believe the trio committed a crime, allowing them to be held in jail, and he gave the state until Dec. 2 to formally charge them, Eagon said.

Tuesday afternoon's shooting seriously wounded 50-year-old James Glodowski of Rosholt, who was hospitalized in Marshfield on Friday in good condition, spokeswoman Carla David said.

According to Eagon, the plot unfolded when Dietze called James Glodowski and told him she had evidence his wife was cheating on him and some money she owed him.

They agreed to meet in Zenoff Park where they play bingo, Eagon said.

After Cummings dropped her off at the park, Dietze walked to Glodowski's truck, handed him a videotape and shot him four times with a .22-caliber pistol, telling him she was sorry but his wife made her do it, Eagon said.

Glodowski, who was shot once in the head and three times in the shoulder, told investigators Dietze's first name and said his wife could provide her last name, Eagon said.

Eagon said Carla Glodowski "believed she was in a relationship" with Cummings, she told him she could not get a divorce and said her husband needed to be "gotten rid of."

Cummings said he knew someone who had a gun, the prosecutor said.

Carla Glodowski indicated to investigators that she and Cummings had a "lock box at a local bank" with $4,000 in it, Eagon said.

Stevens Point Deputy Police Chief Jim Dowling said James Glodowski knew Dietze through his wife.

The shooting caused nearby Stevens Point High School to be temporarily locked down.

curly: I agree with you! Sad as it is. And, moose isn't telling people to move because then there'd be no one left in Wisconsin to sell him his PBR. (sorry, moose, too easy of a target...)

Did anyone else notice that the 'hitgirl' was 23????? That is insane! I'm 22 just about to turn 23 and no way would I even shoot a gun! I can't believe she would do it for $4000. No amount of money is worth you taking someone's life.

moose - I'm not "from" IL, I've lived in many states, inc. IL. But WI is the worst state for people getting away with murder by alcohol. The whole country knows that!!! As for leaving your fine state of drunkin bliss, SOON!! Very very soon!!

I knew a guy who ran a bar up by Green Bay. He had a partner in the business that he took on a hunting trip to Canada. He came back alone and I never saw the partner again.

Doesn't this woman read? The way to kill someone in WI with out getting into trouble is to get drunk, wait for your victim, BAM, it's all done. And everyone knows it's acceptable to kill while driving drunk in this wonderful state, and it would cost no more than 10 bucks.

Sounds like Stevens Point has more than just the four legged squirrels in their parks.Better watch those corn kernels they might start fighting over them.

For $4,000 you obviously can't get a good hitman.

The only redeeming thing about this crazy plot was that they tried to avoid divorce lawyers. Now it's much worse than that!!!

I do believe it's because they provide so many names that you have to glance back at the article to see who shot who, who hired who and who knew who through who. Hmmm, as confusing as I made that I should be able to understand the article itself.

I thought it was just me! (Who did what to whom through who?!?) It's as if the reporter took his/her notes, and tried to make a sentence out of each scribble. I swear journalism died earlier this year. Too bad.

This article is very difficult to follow, in my opinion.
