Former Janesville City Councilman to run for Congressional seat
From the WCLO newsroom:
A former Janesville City Councilman says he decided to run for Congress when he heard about the government's financial rescue plan.
Greg Addie has registered as a write-in candidate with the state Government Accountability Board. He faces incumbent Paul Ryan and Democrat Marge Krupp in the race for the First Congressional District.
In 2006, Addie unsuccessfully challenged incumbent Judy Robson for the 15th State Senate District seat.

I think Mr. Addie would make a fine congressman and I also think he has a record of listening to the people and not pre-judging.

paul ryan's time has come and gone, if he is reelected it's a shame. He has supported our

Please, please excuse me janesvillian. However if you'd actually READ what I wrote, you'd see that I didn't state that he'd lost his seat. I will not deny inferring that had he run, re-election was uncertain. While your facts correctly reflect his public statement, we could do without the pompous attitude.

Addie falls into the category of Jeff Thomas, someone willing to "waste" his money to get his name in front of the public. He doesn't stand a chance against Ryan's bank vault full of cash supplied by the wealthy of the first congressional district. When either Herb or Russ decide not to run again for Senate, watch how fast Ryan's big bucks supporters convince him to vie for that seat. Then and only then will Addie have a chance at becoming a congressman.

Addie could not function well with the council here because he hitched his wagon to the corrosive mentality of B'moon. This was an extreme example of poor judgment on his part.

Whatever else one might think of Addie, he did not "lose" his council seat. He declined to run again following his loss to Robson. (I really do wonder whether people posting on the Gazette ever actually READ it.)

Greg has got my vote. Hey Paul Ryan, how exactly was that bailout you voted for supposed to work? Every person in Congress who voted for that disaster of a bill should be thrown out of office.

I don't know him either, but if he couldn't keep a seat on the council here in just his home city, how does he expect to win the popular vote of the whole district? Is Dr. Thomas his campaign advisor?
