Move plans on hold for Milton mail carriers
MILTON--The United States Post Office has put a hold on the possibility of moving Milton postal carriers to the Janesville office.
“The relocation will be readdressed at a later date this year when the postal service will re-assess the data and logistics,” postal service spokeswoman Marge Oehlke wrote in a news statement.
On March 23, Milton postal workers learned the federal office planned to analyze the cost-effectiveness of mail delivery out of Milton. If it made sense, Milton’s carriers could work out of the Janesville office instead, Oehlke said at the time.

We only have ourselves to blame if they close the Milton Post Office. We pay our bills online, we order products online and instead of writing letters we email and/or text. Shame on us!

It does not affect the actual post office. Milton will still have the window open to buy stamps, etc. Just the mail carriers will pick up mail at the Janesville office to be delivered out. (I have family that works at the post office)

Where in the article does it say anything about the actual office? I must have missed something.

And then force Milton residents to got to Janesville for postal business? Nice. I'm glad they've put this on hold.
