facebooker-the "his kind" I refer to is the kind of person that murders dogs on purpose. What were you thinking of?

When this ordeal with Vick wanting to return erupted a few weeks ago, I was against his coming back. However, in the past week or so, I have read articles and viewed bits and pieces on TV about the guy and his efforts to move forward. This has led to a change of heart in my case. I still think the crimes that Vick committed are sick and tragic, but I also see benefits to both his desire to influence change and his return to the playing field. I hope his changes are "life changes" and I wish him the best.

Mind you, he served 23 months for killing animals, while Donte' Stallworth was in jail 24 days for killing a human being while driving drunk.

I LOVE my dog and pretty much any dogs for that matter. However to call Vick a murder?? Did he kill a person? NO. He may have killed dogs yes and, that may be a crappy thing to do yes. BUT he did his time he feels bad and has done things to better him self after it. Hes an amazing player and will play somewhere. Your not really a true football fan if you sit here and say "oh Ill never support the NFL again if Vick plays" He killed a bunch of dogs, maybe he hunts and fishes too?!!? Oh my....

As I sit and read the posts on this, it amazes me how we allow things like this, and think, "Oh its just dogs" The NFL has got a lot of people who honestly dont deserve to play football. Drugs, guns, the dog fighting....and we sit here and make excuses for these people. I understand he did his time, but to me, he also deserves to be making $10 an hour....

My neighbor says he saw Vick out at Petland here in Janesville. Whatever. I did hear, however, on a Milwaukee radio station today that the Packers are supposedly still considering picking up Mr. Vick.

digitalodonata, I think what Michael Vick did was despicable but do you know the definition of “murder”? He did what he did and he paid a big price for his crime. At one time, I thought he could have been an amazing quarterback in the NFL. Who knows, maybe he still will be, but I have lost my respect for him. That is my opinion. However, I would not call him a “murderer”; a total scum maybe, but not a murderer.

I am very infuriated by dog fighting however, Vick did in the end admit to his wrong doing, served his time, which was probably more time than most dog fighters ever get if they are ever caught. He is out of jail now and should be allowed to pursue his livelihood which is football. I personally know of people right here in Wisconsin that fight dogs and there has never been enough evidence to convict them, it is deplorable but he is trying to make amends and get his life back together, he has kept up his end of the agreement stemming from his conviction so who are we to now judge who he is now.

Its funny how upset people get over this issue. The guy served his time, two years for killing dogs. As sick as that may be, why does he not get a second chance.
He admitted his guilt, now works with the Humane Society to speak against dogfighting. How come the Humane Society forgives Vick, and plans to partner with Vick in developing programs aimed at eliminating dogfighting, but others believe he "should be taking the long dirt-nap"?

He got a rental car to drive to Green Bay, where he will try out for Cleveland. That way the is no chance for hims to beat the Dawgs again!

Although I'm not an "animal rights" person, this guy and anyone else that does that to dogs should be taking the long dirt-nap.

luckee_clover, when CNN, ABC, and MSNBC all have celebrity video on their front pages, I'm not sure that reputation is measured the way it used to be. *shrug*

clover, get over it. It was a web post adding to the rumors that Green Bay wants to sign him. I am sure it was put here so those that live and breath green and gold would know what was going on. Some of those folks do want to know every little detail. Why did you waste your time looking at it?

So is the Gazette now reporting for TMZ? Not a good reputation for a newspaper to get, if you ask me. Were these two lines of a "story" really necessary??
