Aug. 31 is next deadline for no call list
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin consumer advocates say residents on the state's list that bans telemarketing calls must sign up every two years to avoid being dropped from the service.
The state Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection says Aug. 31 is the next deadline to get on the two-year no call list that becomes effective Oct. 1.
Consumer advocate Janet Jenkins says the no-call list now has more than 1.8 million telephone numbers, and 684,000 of them are cell phones.
The no call list, which was started in 2003, bans telemarketing phone calls, but not calls from nonprofit groups, elected officials and candidates for office.
Wisconsin residents can sign up their landline or cell phone numbers by calling 1-866-9NO-CALL (1-866-966-2255)

I have been on the no call list for years but I still get a ton of calls. Does anyone else have this problem? When I tell them I am on a no call list, they hang up on me but the calls keep coming. Lately it has been 1-800-000-0000. I filed a complaint but was told that it is a skype(sp) computer system calling and they can't trace that. I am so sick of these calls.
