A Beloit man is dead after a two-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon on Highway 11 in Rock County’s Spring Valley Township.

Frank C. McIntyre, 75, of Beloit, was pronounced dead after being taken to Mercy Hospital in Janesville, according to a press release from the Rock County Sheriff’s Department.

The press release indicates that a pickup truck driven by McIntyre collided with a trailer being pulled by a heavy-duty bucket truck. Driving the bucket truck was Austin R. Hauser, 29, of Orfordville.

The trailer, which was loaded with a Bobcat, was swaying back and forth across the centerline before the crash, investigators believe.

Speed and alcohol were not suspected as contributing factors, however the crash is still under investigation, the press release states.

The crash occurred shortly before 4 p.m. on Highway 11, just east of South Potter Road.

That can happen if a load shifts or a trailer component fails. Once had to "crash" a trailer against a curb myself (Black Bridge Road, so speed was nominal) when the axle detached.

yaboy22---I'm assuming you weren't there so maybe you should keep your comments to yourself. I have a feeling it's a good thing it was removed but that definitely tells me what type of person you are. Prayers to everyone involved and their families!

yaboy, since we do not know the reason for the crash (not alcohol or speed)why don't you keep your insensitive mouth closed! Think of the families and friends effected by this accident. This could have been caused by 1000 different reasons. Road hazard, deer, debris, mechanical malfunction, health, just to name a few.
