OK miltonalum...if you don't feel you are qualified to run, that's fair.
But rather than criticize, why don't you recruit someone who would meet your "qualifications" and get involved in a grass roots effort to get them elected?

If I remember correctly, Brett has worked in politics previously. I know that a lot of people who hold these types of positions have never had any political background at all. I think that a "younger person" (not young-he is 28 and there have been younger people run in Janesville) isn't a bad idea at all. I think that it would do Milton good to have a wide variety of ideas and personalities, which comes from a difference in ages. Good for you Brett! I do not believe that he would not have put his name out there if he didn't think that he was qualified. I wish I still lived in Milton so that I could support him.
Yes, that is the Brett that has been in shows at the Armory.

I don't see how Brett is any worse or any better than anyone else for this position. I graduated with Brett and his is just as fit for the position as anyone else. He's been in the Milton area his entire life, he's not afraid to listen to others and he's not afraid to speak his mind when there's an issue he disagrees with. I think Brett would be a fine addition to the council.

i wondered how long it would take for someone to say put my money where my mouth is and go register. I am not fluent enough with politics to put myself in a position to make decisions for this city and i recognize that, sure i could go fill out a form and register but would i be any good to my community in that position? no i havent spent the time researching or looking into it to make a rash decision based on a newspaper article. Yes i know brett and he is a decent person i suppose but he is definately NOT the person for this job, just as i am not. I am intelligent enough to recognize what my city needs and its not someone unqualified, in fact im dissappointed that the gazette came out with this article, we would be better off if the mayor had appointed someone qualified..
