FOND DU LAC — Wisconsin authorities say a Milwaukee teen who fled from police in icy temperatures should be grateful he was apprehended.

The Wisconsin State Patrol says hospital officials tell them the teen could have suffered permanent injuries or even death after he endured 90 minutes in freezing weather.

Authorities say the teen crashed a stolen vehicle during a snowstorm Monday. As a state trooper arrived, the driver fled through a field.

The temperature was dropping into the single digits, but the teen was only wearing a sweat shirt, thin pants and sneakers.

Deputies tracked the driver's footprints in the snow and found him more than 1.5 miles away.

He was treated for possible frostbite and taken to jail.

woodsman...yes we know! You've posted this same comment on 2 stories now. I don't remember reading anywhere that the couple won't get jail time and where does it say in either of the two stories that these two guys will? There hasn't been a hearing in any of these cases yet so how do you know they won't go to jail?

Apparently he was too ignorant to know he was risking his life. The story doesn't mention whether or not he had been drinking. Let's hope he learned a valuable lesson.

It amazes me that people will put their lives at risk for something like this.
