Beloit Film Fest ready to reveal films
From the WCLO newsroom:
Film aficionados can learn Wednesday about the line-up for the Beloit International Film Festival.
One of this year's features is a silent film showcase. Marketing Director John McCally says the showcase is a collaboration with the Beloit-Janesville Symphony. He says it's the showing of the 1927 Academy Award-winning film "Wings". The symphony will perform the musical score for the film at the Eclipse Center.
McCally says this week's reveal parties are opportunities for people to get together, socialize and pick up a program for the festival. Wednesday's reveal party takes place at the Beloit Inn, and Thursday's party is hosted by the Armory in Janesville.

It happens. I was a volunteer with a local organization years ago and they depended on Gazette printing their event announcements. We sort of had a running bet back then that at least one crucial piece of information would be omitted, even if we wrote the release in "AP style" where you can cut paragraphs off the end to make a story fit!
.
I'm pretty sure they once omitted the day, but it was fixed in the next paper.

Thank you for the information. I have to wonder why it wasn't included in the story?

beeferer,
The BIFF website gives the information you are looking for. In case you don't make it to that website, it should also be noted that the Beloit reveal party is free. The Janesville reveal party is in conjunction with Forward Janesville, and so it's $5 admission for Forward Janesville members and $15 for "future members".
Hope this helps.
