Finances keep hospital on hold
Plans for a new Janesville hospital and clinic exist on paper, and it’s that paperwork that’s keeping officials busy as they wait for credit markets to thaw so they can lock in financing for the $150 million project.

Mary Starmann-Harrison, SSM’s president, said Monday that SSM and Dean are fully committed to the project.

I would gamble that the credit crunch isn't the only thing delaying this project. Mercy has seen a drop in patients over the last year. My guess is that they'll keep an eye on Mercy's bottom line to see if the project is still viable.

I may just try it out whenever they get to town... if I'm still here. Otherwise, it's the trusty ole' Beloit Memorial for me! Mercy can kick the bucket!

The credit crunch is a national issue not a local one. They continue to state that they are fully committed to the project so I don't understand your comment, Red.
