Milton police officer resigns
Milton police officer Jason Casper has resigned, according to a news release from the Milton Police Department.
Casper, the department's liaison to the Milton School District, is under a criminal investigation after an 18-year-old woman claimed he inappropriately touched her while she was a student at Milton High School and sent her inappropriate text messages after she turned 18.
The Milton City Council accepted Casper's resignation in closed session Tuesday night. The criminal investigation continues, Chief Jerry Schuetz said.

Well all I can say is Karma. He deserves what he gets..maybe he should worry more about his family. He is a poor role model for any child. Once a cheater, still a cheater...

Most of you have no idea why he would resign, but feel free to keep guessing.
Unless you have walked in his shoes, and I have, you will never understand the pressure he is getting from multiple agencies. They are probably threatening felonies, jail time, etc. For touching a 18 yr old adult female ? And I don't know what happened, but ANYONE accuses a cop of something sexual in nature and the wheels of pressure start. If she is lying, she just ruined a good man. If she is truthful, then what is the definition of inappropriate contact on an adult ?
I'm not defending him, but the facts will NEVER come out. Because attorneys will deal it out and Jason's side is never heard. For Jason to walk away, I support for his own well being.
My words to you Jason; you know the truth, be a dad, be a husband, and live outside the microscope. Be in peace my brother and walk tall."Wild B"

you will never know the whole truth in this case, like all cases involving police officers it will be settled out of court for reduced charges and the fact that he retired tells me that is part of the settlement, retire or be fired lets see what should he do?

There has been 2 months to collect evidence. If there was hard evidence this matter would have already resulted in charges.

He is married with two kids. He did get divorced, but remarried his xwife. Poor thing has to go through this now.
As far as guilt or no guilt...I am sure anybody that has that kind of "contact" from him in the past would agree we all think he's guilty....and I know if it were me, there'd be no way in the world I'd resign if I was innocent. I would stand to fight my name and honor --at least for my family's sake!
There is still a criminal investigation taking place, so like "he" said...the truth will come out. I am sure this isn't the end of it.

I don't wonder why. Maybe it's because he can't concentrate on his job and the charges against him, or because he feels that no matter the outcome his integrity is suspect or any number of reasons. Reread my post. I never said he WASN'T guilty. There is, however, a difference between being found guilty in a court of law after the due process that EVERYONE is entitled to and the court of small minded people that is being held here.

Well at least we don't have to waste any more money on the investigation and trial since he's already been found guilty here in the land of people with nothing better to do

She is 18!!!!!!! If he touched her inappropriately than continue. But matter of the fact is that.... SHE IS AN ADULT. Whether or not in high school, she is an adult. If she didnt want to be around or included with this guy than.......tell a teacher. Thats what all parents tell their kids to do if they see or have anything go wrong in school. Not sayin that what "could" have happened was right but got to look at it both ways.

Once again, people setting themselves up as judge and jury. Have any of you people heard of the great American concept of "innocent until proven guilty?" Maybe you should consider alternative citizenship where it's "guilty until you prove yourself innocent."

They did hire a female office a few months ago, but she quit after a few weeks to take a job somewhere else. The reason I know this is a friend of mine was sworn in Tuesday night as a full time officer and it was her spot he got, not sure if they will hire another one to replace this officer.

as far back as i can remember milton has never hired a woman police officer , so its very doubtful they will now. the trend seems to be police officers are held to a different standard, they get in trouble settle and then move on to another police agency. they just did the same thing in edgerton , and milton already employs an officer that was let go from another job because of his actions. if this was a teacher they would be finished and never be employed as a teacher again

This seems to be all the trend, where having a school "liason" officer is all fashionable. Like adopting a poor African or Chinese orphan, writing a childrens book, or carrying a small dog like a piece of expensive jewelry. Or mabe protesting school mascot names because you have an issue with political correctness as you vote YES to new highways through American Indian land.

Do school liaison officers carry guns?
.
Was Jason Casper's resignation part of a deal struck between the Milton School District, Casper's lawyers, the Milton City Council, and the Rock County District Attorney's Office? So that he could avoid any kind of consequences (other than losing his job) and thus allow Milton to save face?
.
I really don't think it should be a defense tactic on behalf of the accused, when it comes right down to the age of the (alleged) victim.
.
Any (alleged)incident worthy of a criminal investigation that involves any school related staff should result in the immediate unpaid suspension of said staff. But first make sure the case has merit.

If this officer did what he is accused of, he just made things a whole lot harder on the next officer, unless they try putting women in these positions. I think they should give it a try. Was this officer married...I do not recall reading that when the story first broke. If he was, his poor wife. How old was this officer again?

I don't think he would have resigned unless he knows he is guilty. If he did not do this he would stay and fight.
