Wis. base hosts combat exercise
CAMP DOUGLAS, Wis. (AP) — Incoming!
Volk Field in western Wisconsin is playing host to the annual Patriot Exercise, a National Guard combat exercise that involves about 3,000 Guard soldiers and airmen from the world.
People from Eau Claire to Randolph may notice a lot more planes in the air. The exercise involves F-16 and A-10 fighters, cargo planes and Black Hawk helicopters.
Some of the training will take place at low altitudes in the evenings.
The exercise started earlier this month and is set to end July 27.

We saw 3 Blackhawks fly over on Sunday afternoon. It was really neat. We wondered where they were going and what they were doing.

"3,000 Guard soldiers and airmen from the world. "
Not sure what this means. Possibilities are:
1. Friendly foreign Forces will be involved.
2. Participants will be from all parts of the world.
3. Only airmen will be from "the world"
3. All participants will be from "the world".
4. No aliens from other planets will be involved. Only those folks from "the world".
