JANESVILLE—Janesville police need help finding a cat that bit a 9-year-old boy at 7:40 p.m. Wednesday in the parking lot at 509 W. Milwaukee St.

The bite resulted in puncture wounds to the child’s right index finger, according to a department press release.

That cat is described as a Calico—black, brown and white—smaller, shorthair cat with no collar, police said.

Anyone with information about the cat or its owner should call police at (608) 755-3100.

Yeah I agree with the cat beign with its owner but a parent should be watching their kids. In todays world theyare lucky it was just a run in with a cat.

Well, to each his own on parenting. I don't want to get into that. My point was, the owner of the cat is responsible for their pet. Period. You shouldn't have to keep a leash on your 9-10 year old kid. Should he have gone up to the cat? No, but he's a kid. That and I hate cats.

Oh I know I got bit by one when I was little. Thats why I ask where are his parents? I ahve a 10 year old and the only time hes left "unattended" is in our nback yard. With an 8 foot wood fence around it.

Just so some of you are aware, a cat bite is one of the most infectionous bites someone can get. Regardelss of whether they have rabies ore not. From the words of Bob Barker, "Get you pets spade or neutered". Or from the words spark, "Shoot your cats."

Um....where were his parents? Where the hell were the owners of the cat? I love how people with cats just think they can let them roam around wherever they want. Keep them in the damn house. There's already too many of them around. Ya, run kitty, run. Right in front of a car.

I hope for the kid's sake they catch the cat, but there's one thing I've never understood. If they get a cat that seems to fit the description, how can they be sure they have the right one? Is it worth risking rabies to "assume" you caught the right one? It seems safest to give the victim the injections regardless, and forget about the cat (unless it seemed rabid).

Run kitty run! Because if the po-po catch you are going to be sent the gas chamber.

Perhaps this kid's parents should have been paying better attention to him and NOT let him pet a stray animal.
