UPDATE: Tree has been removed from Burdick Road
JANESVILLE--A tree that was blocking Burdick Road, between Highway 14 and County A, has been removed and both lanes of the road are now open, according to a Rock County Communications Center dispatcher.
A Rock County Sheriff’s Office deputy was on scene and the county highway department was called to remove the tree. It is not known what caused the tree to fall, the dispatcher said.

Oh, yeah. Now I remember.
But do the blue lights still flash in the aisles?

tbov, we're glad you stayed away, too.
We like people around that have a sense of humor. Perhaps you can go to K-mart and buy one. Do they still have Blue Light Specials?

I am offended that they didn't put in what kind of tree it was.

It's interesting what people pick up on. I'm glad I don't write for the Gazette, this is a tough crowd.

Maybe if all you people would pay three times as much for a Gazette subscription, they would hire the best writers in the USA so that you had no reason to criticize them. Give 'em a break. Who gives a crap if they make an error from time to time (if it is even considered an error).

Speaking of TMI, did anyone else notice that the Gazette does not include the make of the vehicles when reporting on accidents since GM is gone? Creepy.

Thanks for the chuckles, all! I was a little disturbed with the "female dispatcher" part also. and then realized I'm not being overly sensitive, it was just an unnecessary word...unless there is a minimum # of words before it qualifies as a "story", and "female" put it over. lol Enjoy your day and watch out for falling trees.

I think it is important to also know the gender of the Rock County Sheriff deputy as well as the highway department employee. A tree in the road needs to be handled with care that only a certain gender can efficiently process.

What is the relevance of the sex of the dispatcher unless you are planning on dating? Did the dispatcher provide the information voluntarily or was it a subject of interrogation? Is it possible that the dispatcher was a high-talking male? ;-)
