South Arch Street to close for two days
JANESVILLE--South Arch Street, between West Court Street and Rockport Road, will be closed to through traffic starting at 6 a.m. Friday, June 26, for two days, according to city engineering.
Traffic will be detoured around the closure on West Court Street, South Crosby Avenue and Rockport Road.
Local access to driveways will be maintained throughout the closure, but access to the driveways will only be available from the south (Rockport Road).
A private contractor, working for the City of Janesville, will be installing sewer and water mains to serve the new Walgreens development in the southeast corner of West Court Street and South Arch Street.

Kilgore is in Texas, I live in Janesville. And I work near there, and all I said was that the notification sucked. No it wouldn't kill me to drive around, but that's not the point. Businesses here weren't notified until Tuesday, so how nice of them to give them 2 days notice. I bet if this was YOUR street that you weren't notified about, you'd be a little peeved too. So for now I guess I have to reroute and burn more gas that we pay too much for.

When they have done work adjacent to our properties we have always been notified in advance by mail. The city is really pretty good about this. When they send out a press release they have no control over when it is published.

Kilgore...., you can go to the city website and sign up to get city press releases by email. I got one about Arch St. before the work started.

Wow, nice of the city to notify people AFTER the road was closed. You can't convince me the city didn't know about this beforehand, so now it can become a problem for all the people, including me, who now have to reroute. Now I know about it, but how many others who drive that route DON'T know till they get there??!??! Bad public notification City of Janesville!
