MILWAUKEE (AP) — Newt Gingrich will be in Milwaukee to raise campaign funds for gubernatorial hopeful and fellow Republican Scott Walker.

The former Speaker of the House is scheduled to address the media for about 20 minutes Monday evening. His comments are expected to include an endorsement for Walker, the Milwaukee County executive since 2002.

Walker ran for governor in 2006 but dropped out as his fundraising lagged. He's running again in the 2010 election, where he'll face Appleton businessman Mark Todd. Former U.S. Rep. Mark Neumann is also expected to enter the race.

Gingrich has himself been mentioned as a possible presidential candidate in 2012. He says he's still weighing that decision.

You certainly are a defender, if not a supporter, or were you just grasping at straws in your effort to disparage Gingrich, old boy?

Janesvillean, you seem to think that a personal slur (something you castigated someone else for not long ago on a different story that was directed at Speaker Pelosi), really just an feeble attempt at character assassination ("Gingrich is a joke"), is all that's needed to dismiss people like Gingrich from serious consideration in public debates and forums. Do you do that because you don't care to elaborate on your negative opinion, or is that just a boilerplate response you've been programed to offer anytime Gingrich's name happens to comes up?

Seeing you wrongly assumed that I was a "Clinton supporter" I felt I was entitled to an assumption also, old boy.

Gingrich is a joke, what today's bizarre remnant of the Republican Party considers a "serious" candidate of "ideas". By extension, whom he supports may be in the same category.

Now where did I say that Clinton should have been impeached (even if he did lie under oath on a deposition while serving as President which violated his oath of office to uphold the law and not just his marriage oath, a charge one cannot make against Gingrich which destroys your attempts at equivalency between the two, not that I expect you to ever acknowledge that fact)? Engaging in some self-serving assumptions aren't you, old boy?

Oh, I see. Clinton should be impeached, but Newt merely "has flaws." If that isn't selective, I don't know what is.

It's true NVgrf, Gingrich has flaws which as a Clinton supporter I'm sure that you can identify with even if your capacity for forgiveness is selective. I would not recommend Gingrich or Clinton as marriage counselors, but as astute politicians with extensive knowledge of economics their advice and support would be helpful to any aspiring politician.

Or did Andrew make that mistake about Neumann, too? If you meant Walker, Andrew, he wasn't thrown out of office either. He gave up his seat in the state Assembly which he won re-election to many times when he won a special election for Milwaukee County Executive in 2002 which he has held ever since in spite of his status as a republican in a democratic stronghold.

Opps! My mistake. Somehow I saw Walker but read Neumann who also is thinking of runing for Governor.

You are mistaken Andrew, Neumann gave up his seat in the House to run for the Senate against Sen. Feingold in '98, losing by less than 40,000 votes, the entire difference coming from the 68,000 vote lead garnered by Feingold in Milwaukee county alone. It's also interesting to note that in '97, as a member of the Republican caucus, Neumann voted "present" in the vote for Speaker of the House that Gingrich won.

It will be interesting to see how many "sheep" turn up for this fundraiser. Another shining example of what is wrong with our system. What in Hell does this idiot have to do with Wisconsin? Please correct me if I'm mistaken, but didn't we vote Neumann out of office once already?

After dumping one wife during her battle with cancer and another fighting M.S.(for other women), I can not see how those who bashed Clinton's morals can ever support this guy.
