Feds, MPD round up drug dealers
MILWAUKEE (AP) — Police say more than 300 law enforcement officers were involved in a sweeping roundup of 25 people charged in federal court with conspiracy to sell cocaine and other crimes.
An affidavit says the group was involved in moving hundreds of thousands of dollars in cocaine in Milwaukee late last year.
Documents say several defendants own bars and liquor stores in Milwaukee. Several of the defendants also carried guns and sold or traded them.
A grand jury returned an indictment against the defendants Tuesday. One of those indicted is Antonio "Cheem" Williams who's charged in state court with four counts of first-degree reckless homicide in a Fourth of July shooting that killed four people in Milwaukee.
Authorities say the roundup is the result of a yearlong investigation into the drug dealing activities of two "notorious" street gangs.

You are right kid, how ingnorant of me to praise the police for doing their job and getting cocaine off the street. Man I just can't believe how dumb I was to say that. Smoke another joint, idiot.

I'm merely pointing out the hypocrisy in this country. If anything should be illegal it's alcohol. And what about the cost of the current drug war? How much do you think it cost for just this one "sweeping roundup" involving 300 law enforcement officers? Not to mention the cost of the entire investigation, prosecution and imprisonment. It is time to end the drug war. LEAP http://www.leap.cc/cms/index.php

The statistics show that alcohol does kill more people than cocaine. That doesn't make it the lesser of two evils, however, in my mind.

Wow, kid has graduated from mary jane to the hardcore stuff. Professor, you cannot compare alcohol to cocaine. The argument itself is ridiculous. Instead of comparing the evils of various drugs, how about a big ATTA BOYS to the cops for getting the hard drugs off the street?

Yes, in addition to they're possibly having more than 25 warrants, if some of the suspects have a history of shooting, you'd want more than one officer covering the back door and another knocking on the front door. I believe Milwaukee might have some larger housing complexes and when moving into the area there might be additional avenues of escape for the police to cover.

Burg--Having participated in two of these in the past, it was likely that they had a whole bunch more than 25 warrants; but, this is all they could locate and serve at that time.

Takes over 300 cops to take down 25 perps? Seems a little lopsided to me possibly a bit over-kill.

your guess is probably accurate officer...but you know irrelevant since this country has a more than unhealthy addiction to alcohol that they have noooooo problem turning a blind eye on. sad.

I would venture to guess that there have been far more incidents involving alcohol consuming patrons from the defendants bars and liquor stores than the people who bought and used strictly cocaine.
