JANESVILLE -- A Janesville man charged in a home-invasion robbery and beating stood mute Monday in Rock County Court.

Victor Garcia, 18, of 219 N. Marion Ave., had a not guilty plea entered for him. A court hearing was scheduled for Tuesday, May 19. He remains held in the Rock County Jail on $25,000 cash bond.

Garcia, Fernando Garcia, 20, and Isaac Cortez, 18, are charged with two counts of party to armed robbery, one count of party to armed burglary and one count of party to substantial battery. The Garcia brothers also are charged with felony bail jumping.

Cortez, 3227 Randolph Road, Janesville, stood mute April 27. The court entered a not guilty plea for him. He was ordered held in jail on $20,000 cash bond.

Fernando Garcia, 219 N. Marion Ave., Janesville, waived his right to a preliminary hearing April 24 and is awaiting his arraignment. He was ordered held in jail on $25,000 cash bond.

The men are accused of arming themselves with an axe, knife and rifle and breaking into a home at 3206 E. Milwaukee St. on March 30, then beating a resident.

What makes you think that because their name is Garcia they arent US Citizens? Does it matter? Does it make it any more less of a crime, regardless of whether their name is Smith, Jones or Garcia....crime is universal, get your head out of the sand.

Shows a picture like you would in any other case. If he was a white male I guareteen you stupid PC liberals at the gazette would have posted a picture of him and his family. Ran a story about his address and the whole nine yards. Talk about reverse descrimination..

If I remember correctly didn't the resident of the home get beat up - while his roommates stood there and watched?
