Orfordville woman critical after beating
ORFORDVILLE -- Rock County sheriff’s investigators continue investigating a severe beating of a woman in a mobile home park outside Orfordville.
The woman described as in her 40s was found unconscious at 1 p.m. Sunday in the 3100 block of South Old Highway 11 in Country Courts Trailer Home Park, according to the Rock County Sheriff’s Office.
A deputy was responding to an unrelated burglary complaint when someone reported a woman was “down” in a nearby trailer, according to the sheriff’s office.
The woman had severe head injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Janesville, according to the sheriff’s office, and she remains hospitalized in critical condition.

The victim of this crime is my aunt. To the few in here arguing back and fourth and making wise cracks, please understand that her children come on here to read this. Please find somewhere else to make your ignorant comments. To others, thank you for your wishes and prayers.

melstew41 - let me paint a scenerio for you. If you are a woman and you come at me and take a swing or smash a bottle over my (situations not becoming of a woman)head, or in the heat of an argument smack me, be prepared to get it in return. I am not talking about a beating, just a return "hit". That is no different than if the same situation was between 2 men since now woman are "equal". If you are in a situation where you are physical with a man, you really are not a woman, so the term never hit a woman no longer applies, plus you are equal to a man. I think I have done enough explaining my opinion. Take it for what you want.

However, if you are a REAL woman, you will act like one and not get yourself in a position to be hit by a man.

I was agreeing with you all the way up to here, yes there are some woman who will step up to a man and then things go down hill from there, but there are some men who are violent for no reason at all. So I guess depending on the situation this comment might fit maybe

momof5 - a little bit of both (he,he,he). Some of my comments were in regard to others saying you should never "hit" a woman. Never once did I condone "beating" a woman as others have ran with. My point is also grabbed by others. If you are a woman and you are going to step up and take on a man, be prepared to take it back as the "you should NEVER hit a woman" is no longer "NEVER" due to equal rights. Where is the saying "you should NEVER hit a man"? If man and woman are equal be prepared to get treated like a man if needed. However, if you are a REAL woman, you will act like one and not get yourself in a position to be hit by a man. This case is a beating which is entirely different and uncalled for. My comments were in response to others who think that a woman should NEVER be hit. Not the case anymore. In self defense be ready to get smacked! (I don't care who you are).

Does anyone know how this woman is doing? DO police have any leads? Could it be an estranged man in her life? I'm surprised there hasn't been any updates :(

Guys guys guys....localboy is baiting you all. He did it back when the wife "allegedly" stabbed her husband in the shower. He had me all riled up.
Remember? Deception? Make-up, high heel shoes, lies, padded bras, breast augmentation and the list goes on and on.
Search "Jaymie Pergande" and I'm sure you'll find the article.

really the bottom line is no one should be putting their hands on anyone regardless of the gender. People in relationships these days seem to be so quick to resort to violence when they have issues. This needs to stop, people need to talk out their problems not beat them out of each other. The scary thing is this is what children these days are learning from parents to beat each other, violence in homes and schools in my opinion is horrible and scary.

Just to clarify...I am not talking about this incident. I am talking in general terms. I am also not talking about beating someone to death. I am talking very strictly one slap for one slap.
What happened to Sandy is an absolite tragedy. It was not deserved nor could it be justified.

in my opinion~~I agree. But, if she hit him first that does not give him the right to beat her like he did. If the gender role in the story was reversed, I would say the same.

localboy~~ Give me a break~~even if it was self defense (which I'm not saying it was or wasn't because I have no idea of what happened) then all he had to do was restrain her or immobolize her~~not beat her until she was in critical condition. Don't use the self defense crap here~~that's obviously NOT what happened in this case. Just because someone hits you does not give you the right to beat them to death~~it gives you the right to defend yourself until you can get away safely and call the police.

Not to put words into his mouth but what I think localboy is trying to say is that...If a woman wants to step up like a man, she better be prepared to go down like one. There are way too many woman that beat on their mates and then they whine cuz' he finally hit her back. If a woman slaps her man, he can slap her back. If she hits him, he can hit her back. We teach our woman to defend themselves. Why not our men?

localboy, youre right as women we will read between the lines, when it comes to women being beat up.as a woman and a past victim of domestic violence thats the first thing i did,was read your post that you condone hitting women.i will agree with the statement if you hit me, youre going to get hit back.my husband would strongly disagree with striking a woman under any circumstances, even if it meant his life, which i hope he would not be that stupid.its always easier to walk away, but most people dont.with all the awful things that have been happening to women in this county alone lately, your comment struck a nerve with myself and probably alot of other woman who are victims of domestic violence,my intent was not to label you, and i do apologize for that, but your post should have been worded a little different considering the condition that this woman is in,and yes it could have been another woman who did this to this poor woman.but highly unlikely, men who do this will continue because they get away with it.this act will be a felony and hopefull this person, male or female will go to prison along time for this.

It is funny how you posters only read what you want to in my post. Read it carefully AGAIN. Nobody "deserves" to be hit, struck, or physically abused. However, in self defense, I don't care what your sex is since woman are considered "equal" to a man. It is then a fair fight.

so i take it local boy hits women.no one has the right to put their hands on anyone even if they deserve it. the only time one should strike another is in self defense, and by the way the anser to one of the comments above.why does it have to be a man?how often do you read in the paper,"local man beat up by wife?"maybe if you did, their would be fewer women getting their heads knocked in,and their teeth knocked out. well maybe they have it coming as local boy says.i got to ask you localboy what would a woman have to do to have it coming?just curious.my prayers and thoughts are with this woman, and wishing her a full recovery.

So because women demanded equal treatment its OK to hit them? Or because they burned their bras?

Localboy Attitudes like yours are the reason that we need a women's shelter in this town. Women burned their bras so they could draw attention to equal rights not the right to be hit. Your misogyny is shining through and through. It sounds like you don't think women are equal.
Fire away indeed. Women never gave up the right to be hit as they never had it in the first place. What ignorance. Any man that hits a women is NOT a man.

Local boy, I chuckled for a second but, in reality, if someone beats, hits or abuses a woman in my presence, they will be "stopped". There is no reason to beat a women.
May 12, 2009 at 8:09 a.m.

First off, you don't "beat" a woman. It isn't a fair fight. As for hitting, if she has it coming, fire away. Women gave up their right to "not be hit" when they burned their bra's and demanded equal treatment. If you want to be equal to a man, you get hit like a man if you deserve it (e.g. self defense). You can't be treated "special" if you want to be equal.
