Janesville man involved in boat crash
MADISON -- A Janesville man was involved in a boating accident Monday morning on Lake Waubesa.
Gerald L. Reese, 66, Janesville, was driving a boat at 8:38 a.m. when it struck another boat driven by Edward J. Seiler, 78, Dane, according to the Dane County Sheriff's Office.
Reese was traveling about 17 to 25 mph in his boat when he failed to turn in time to avoid Seiler's boat, which was anchored in about 11 feet of water, according to the sheriff's office.
Seiler was thrown from his boat after the collision, according to the sheriff's office.
A passenger in Reese's boat, Michael Morton, 24, Albany, jumped into the water and rescued Seiler, according to the sheriff's office.
