Wisconsin parks, trails offer free admission
MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Outdoors lovers in Wisconsin can commune with nature free-of-charge Sunday.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources plans a State Park Open House with free admission to all state parks, forests and trails.
That means no admission stickers will be needed on vehicles entering state parks, forests and recreation areas. Trail users, including bicyclists, inline skaters and horseback riders, won't need trail passes.
The event coincides with the state's Free Fishing Weekend. Anglers don't need a license to fish at lakes and rivers in Wisconsin parks and forests through Sunday.

Does anyone know if there will be a kids' fishing event in Janesville sometime? I think in the past there was something down at Kiwanis pond.

Free Fishing Weekend is Saturday, June 6th and Sunday, June 7th, not today and tomorrow as stated in the article. Oh, and they forgot to mention that Christmas is on Friday, so get out and take care of all of that last minute shopping this weekend.

Sunday is May 31st. Thanks to the posters for providing the correct information. I wonder why the date was not mentioned in the story? This poorly posted announcement has the potential to cause a lot of confusion, disappointment, and anger. Great Job!!!
