MADISON (AP) — Federal officials say they’ll give a Wisconsin organization nearly $15 million in stimulus money to make industrial energy systems more efficient.

U.S. Department of Energy officials say Clean Tech Partners of Madison will get $14.5 million to install energy efficient equipment in pulp and paper mills as well as printing, corn milling, plumbing and small engine manufacturing facilities.

The state’s Office of Energy Independence, meanwhile, will get $350,000 to expand the Wisconsin Save Energy Now Program.

The money is part of $155 million federal energy officials have earmarked for industrial energy improvements.

Hornet there is nothing keeping you or others from doing what you propose right now. Why make it a requirement for all people to partake through a bureaucratic government system? The pioneers did not need the government to get involved they banded together out of a want to work together. I am sure during that time, there were people that didn’t want help or decided who they wished to help. It should be no different today. Looking for government to solve everything is not the answer.

This is not new money. This is from the stimulus bill passed last spring.
.
But, you know, I still want my $1 trillion back that was spent looking for yellowcake and nukes. Any word on that refund?

Sannio... would it let you feel better if I took on the $200,000 loan in my name, so it won't be in yours? Sometimes one needs to pay some money to fix things that are broken...and sometimes things that are broken can't be fixed by us alone, so we have to pay someone else.
..
If a neighbor needs new windows so his electric heat doesn't "fly out the window", but he can't afford it, it would behoove me to help (with help from other neighbors) to fix the problem. One might call this socialistic activity. I call it logical and business like. If the neighbor stops losing heat, then my air will be cleaner as the coal burning plant won't burn so much coal.
..
I work a lot with genealogy and read up on pioneers. If they had had the "me" mentality (the "it's my money and I'm going to keep it...to Heck with you and your loss") how could they have survived? You wouldn't have built your house alone in the woods. You would have helped someone build theirs, then they'd help you. It's called collaboration and survival. If you think it's socialism, then you're not expecting anything in return for your investment... whether offered up or solicited.

Would you be mad if you came home from work, found out someone just took out a $200,000 loan in your name, and gave the money to someone else? That's what our government is doing to us.
