Doyle has private meeting with Obama, others
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Gov. Jim Doyle has a private 30-minute meeting planned with President Barack Obama in the White House on Thursday.
Doyle’s also scheduled to meet with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a Democrat from California, Obama’s political director Patrick Gaspard and Obama’s senior adviser David Axelrod.
His meeting with Axelrod and Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick is scheduled to focus on the health care proposals being debated in Congress.
The meetings come as Democrats in Wisconsin search for a candidate for governor next year. Doyle has decided against running and pressure is building for Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett to get in.
Doyle is also meeting with Wisconsin Congressman Dave Obey and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to talk about health care.

I, too, agree that doyle was probably kissing up for a job in the whitehouse! especially since he has already said he will not be running for re-election, Thank you God!!! But if Obama hires him, he will be showing more of his colors as Old Jim put us way far in the poor house!! What does Obama think Doyle can offer to the country when he ran our state so poorly??? Probably info about how NOT to run a country!!!

janesvillecomments,
palin energized the party. the choice of palin actually put mccain ahead in some polls for a week or so.
mccain lost in late september when the economy went south.
however, i'm glad obama got elected.
he is the best thing to have happened to the "conservative" movement in 60 years.

I don't think Obama is superslick, I believe he is just another mediocre Democratic hack. Let's face it, after Bush Junior, even Jethro Bodine would look like a better President. Obama lucked out by having Bush to follow. I don't know if McCain could have picked a VP candidate that would have helped him enough to win, but he sure made the wrong choice with Palin.
I'm sure being black got Obama some votes based on race and lost him some votes based on race, but if race were a dominant factor in the election, we'd be complaining about President Billary Clinton right now.
Who says Doyle plans on coming back? Perhaps he is going to give Wisconsin a going-away present by going away (and staying). ☺

dtb: At least they tried to save a little money by having Gov. Doyle fly to D.C. with President Obama when the latter returned there yesterday. Not sure how Doyle plans to get back home to Wisconsin however.

You're right, MrBlack. I should have just let BostonBill speak for me. He wrote what I meant to say, but he did so in a much more civilized way. I apologize. Justaguy: I think I let MrBlack's remark regarding racism get to me. I hate it when people pull that the way he did. I usually do try to listen and digest others' opinions but often fail in my efforts to remain fair and calm. All I can promise is that I will keep trying to do the right thing.

MrBlack, your sweeping generalizations in your statements are neither backed up by any factual statistics nor common sense, just an over inflated ego. You seem to have the uncanny ability to inform us about what “the problem is” based on some of your statements, such as, “The problem is that most of the workers left there are close to retirement anyway.” And “The problem with Obama is the people that he has chosen to surround himself with and be influenced by” and the most recent, and truly brilliant, “The problem is that if anyone critizes anything that Obama does they are automatically considered a racist by the democrats.” I find that very offensive.
What are your intelligent solutions to all of the problems? Please enlighten us, oh all knowing one.

I agree with Opinions.....he is a tool and I got a gut feeling that this meeting was to ask dome head to come on board in the cabinet or maybe become the tobacco czar so the Feds can get more tax money out of the average citizen. Since he nows how to raise taxes. I just hope when he leaves he takes his trains with him cause that is another thing that is going to come and bite us in the rear end.

I criticize obama for alot of things he does but that hardly makes me stupid, i did the same to Bush also but i spose that was ok? Some might even think your stupid for your very unwise comment.

Our Dear Leader Barack Hussein Obama II, prophet and messiah, will be about as popular in two years in the US as Doyle is now in Wisconsin. The sly huckster Obama is so blinded by his extreme narcissism that only the hard-core Obami will be left worshipping the false god.

Sarah-from my viewpoint your opinion is outright stupid but I don't think namecalling, closemindedness and unwillingness to listen to other people's points of view is going to bring this country together as your savior said he would. Way to stay classy though.

SarahB1: exactly but how many of us could get a 30 minute meeting with "the Savior, excuse me President Obama"? And my point is that he is not looking out for the interests of those right now that he is collecting a pay check from, but looking to where his next meal ticket is coming from.

The problem is that if anyone critizes anything that Obama does they are automatically considered a racist by the democrats. I'm pretty sure that in our system of government critizing and "holding in check" your elected politicians is how it's supposed to be if you disagree with them. Otherwise we would be North Korea or China.

Of course, that would be in a perfect World and actually make sense. But from one politician to another, that simply isn't possible.
