RANDOM LAKE, Wis. (AP) — The family of a Random Lake soldier injured in the Fort Hood shooting says Amber Bahr was shot in the back and is undergoing tests.

Lisa Pfund says she was relieved when the 19-year-old Bahr finally called Thursday evening. Bahr told her she went running when shots rang out, and didn't realize she'd been hit until she went to an emergency room.

Pfund says it's a big relief to hear her daughter is OK, especially after the call she got from doctors after the shooting revealed few details.

Pfund was previously told her daughter was shot in the belly.

Authorities say Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan opened fire at the Texas base Thursday, killing 13 and injuring 30. Hasan was shot four times during the rampage. A military spokesman says he is hospitalized in stable condition.

For a split second I was wondering about the source of your stroke inducing rage dub, but you answered for me in your previous posts.

Now I understand. Your pent up frustration from the "W" years finally exploded.

It really is true, you must hit bottom before you can start the journey back up.

I wish you well in your travels.

dub190, I only know that it's tacky in the extreme to use an occasion like this for political grandstanding. Please keep your minds on the victims and their families. Contrary to your prejudices, liberals also support the military and grieve when an incident of this nature takes place.

"showed he cared about the military by sending them overseas to die in a country that never attacked us and never had the nuclear weapons that the administration claimed they had"

When was the last time thesee cowards attacked us at home? Take the fight to the enemy and keep it away from here. Our military signs up volountarily you fool we don't force anyone to bravely and courageously serve their country. You should thank those brave men and women that you can state your opinion here today.

Sure takes some obsession to criticize a standard presidential response amid tragedy. Bush, of course, showed he cared about the military by sending them overseas to die in a country that never attacked us and never had the nuclear weapons that the administration claimed they had. Well, that's one way to care about your military.

Latest reports indicate this guy is alive, paralyzed, and on a ventilator.

I hate to say this but someone on this blog will defend this guy by saying;

1. If the war wasn't going on this would have happened
2. He was being persecuted becasue he was a muslim so he has a right to do this.

Initial reports are indicating that he had some personal issues with patients and some soldiers due to him being Muslim.

Prayers for everyone affected by this tragedy.

Major Hasan has never been overseas...correcting the "rumor" from below. He was to be deployed for the first time at the end of November.

Prayers and thoughts with our Wisconsin soldier. I hope she has a quick recovery. Very sad.

Carlitosway-I would have something to say about your off handed comment -but this article is about our Wisconsin hero. Let's keep it that way.
