Wis. official vows to uncover fraud in stimulus
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A Wisconsin official is promising to detect fraud and other problems in federal stimulus programs in the state.
Chris Patton, director of the Office of Recovery and Reinvestment, told lawmakers on Wednesday his staff was conducting reviews of awards, spending and other activities as they happen in "real time."
He said that was a dramatic departure from the past practice of conducting reviews after a program is over and should help "ensure that noncompliance is promptly detected and immediately corrected."
Patton said the state has trained employees on accountability and oversight with the assistance of the FBI, the U.S. Attorney's Office and other officials.

Hey, it's not a big deal after all that is federal money, and we all know that those aren't really "our" tax dollars. Just ask any local or state politician who loves wasting "federal money". *sarcasm ends*
