A search warrant was executed at 209 Cherry St. by the Street Crimes Unit at 9:36 p.m. with help from the patrol division and resulted in the seizure of multiple items of drug paraphernalia, a police scanner, $50, prescription drugs, seven suspected ecstasy pills, 334.1 grams of marijuana and another 249 grams of marijuana drying in the basement.

Anthony J. Michener, 23, who lives at this address was arrested on charges of possession with intent to deliver ecstasy pills near certain places, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver near certain places, running a drug house and possession of prescription drugs.

loved, loved LOVED the man crush post, kid. I agree. So many post comments that they aren't going to argue or respond, but then *POOF* there they are again.

On another note: this "problem" is only a problem since the "War on Drugs". The only thing that did was make the drug lords FILTHY rich and make the US poor by putting every one who likes to take a puff from the peace pipe in jails around the country. Cocaine and heroin? ABSOLUTELY GET THE DEALERS OFF THE STREETS! Pot never made anyone rob a bank or a gas station. Pot helps you enjoy terrible comedy on television while resting on the couch and eating the occasional pizza (which was delivered by the pizza guy, or pulled out of the freezer). It has gotten a bad rap...and for no reason, other than someone somewhere decided A VERY LONG TIME AGO that it is bad, but without reason or data to back it up.

I cannot think of anything criminal about it! Except that someone said we "can't"...how about someone ask the question, "why can't we?" It's a circular argument for which there is no logical explanation. Like a parent telling his kid, "because I told you so, that's why." Not only is it not helpful, it's counterproductive.

My position is generally consistent. I would support legalization because it would eliminate much of the criminal element that now associates with drug sales. Businesses would be forced to locate in acceptable commercial areas rather than subject their neighbors to constant traffic and noise.
.
I'm glad the police are working on these drug houses. Maybe some of them are harmless but in my experience they are simply a nuisance magnet. Is there trash in the front yard? That's as good as a sign out front. Yelling? Honking? Fighting? All too often it's part of the mix. At the very least you have a steady parade of strangers, and they all behave strangely, parking in front of houses that aren't the destination so they aren't "seen" there, or bringing sketchy pals to keep lookout. I've seen it all, unfortunately, and I have only had one summer recently where none of this was visible while working in my front yard. It wears you down.
.
So excuse me if my sympathy is limited.

spark: youve said more than anyone on here that you wont discuss this with me...yet you continue to reply to my posts. i think ive mentioned this before, but if yer developing a man crush please keep it in check. i have a beautiful girlfriend who doesnt pass judgement on people, and althought your pseudo intelligence scarily excites me, save your question an just know that ill pass, thanx. BUT the more important thing is you have ALL the pieces...let me put the puzzle togethor for you. adults selling to adults is no big deal.was this guy selling to kids?? my assumption that he WASNT selling to kids is just as valid as someones assumption that he WAS. as you point out we, you included, have nooooo idea what this guy was doing. do you know how we CAN know what this guy is doing?? hint: i already mentioned in this thread and a million times on others. lets say i agree with you. its mentally and physically addicting. it will ruin lives. kill people on the road. causes cancer. makes you do things you dont know you are doing only to regret the next day. that brings us back to my original question, and by original i mean like probably the first post i ever posted on this site...WHY CAN UNCLE SAM ALLOW THAT STUFF TO HAPPEN WITH ALCOHOL/TOBACCO AND NOT MARIJUANA. im a expletive american citizen. whether you agree with what i do or say is irrelevant. i have rights to personal freedoms. this isnt russia. is this russia danny?? this isnt russia.

RIght, yet I read a couple times below that adults selling to other adults is no big deal. That's my point, you or anyone else doesn't know that's what he's doing. Besides, it wasn't just about dope. It may not have been a lot of the other stuff, but it was there. Hmmmm.
-
Mentally addicting or physically addicting. It's still addicting. If it wasn't than quit. My point was, I know many that smoked it and couldn't stop. And no it wasn't the famous excuse "oh i could quit, I just don't want to." B.S. It's because it's addicting just like all other drugs in some shape or form.

first i dont know that this guy is not selling to kids. you want to know how to make sure he doesnt sell to minors or in certain places?? legalize and regulate my friend. just like a bar. thats absolutely fine if you or anyone wants to believe its addicting. mentally addicting i will grant you, but physically addicting(which is assumed from the analogy to cigs) it is not. i have never met one stoner who has had withdrawal symptoms when they dont smoke. is that the same for a tobacco quitter or alcohol quitter?? i never claim to have all the answers spark, i have a lot of questions and NO ONE, it appears, has the answers.

all you anti-big govt peeps should w/out a doubt be on my side. drug use is a states rights issue and the feds have NO BUSINESS telling us what to do. none.

First of all, how do you know he was selling to adults? He obviously was doing it near places he shouldn't be, so regardless, he's at fault. Period. Kid, do you think you're the only doper that has all the answers? People cannot smoke dope and still know that it's addicting by talking to others that do smoke it.

ibroofer. i have no doubt in my mind this guy was dealing drugs. it was probably mid grade quality at best, but its still a lot of pot. i smoke the high end(no pun int:) stuff and i, as we all know, smoke about as much marijuana as anyone you will come across(frequency, not necessarily quantity), and i only go thru about a half an ounce a month. tops. this guy had plenty dry and more drying. hes a dealer. yes he broke the law, he will do what ever time is put at him. but if you look at the BIG picture what this guy was doing is no different than every bar owner that ever was. selling drugs to other adults who choose to use them should not be a crime. arresting someone for doing that?? victimless crime. again, THERE IS NOT ONE VICTIM(other than the guy arrested) in ANY of the crimes this guy is charged with.

wannabe30: could you tell me how you formed your opinion that its just as addicting as tobacco?? how often do you smoke marijuana?? so you know that it has the same affect as alcohol, and maybe not even as long. please take a second and explain to me why one, a man made drug that can kill by use alone is legal for anyone over the age of 21 and the other, a PLANT that HAS NEVER KILLED BY USE ALONE is COMPLETELY ILLEGAL??

Legalize the pot but tax it as high as cigarettes, in my opinion it is just as addicting as cigarettes and makes you about as stupid as being drunk. In addition, to the kid yes it makes you slower just as alcohol dose so don’t even go there because I know, the effects may not be as long as being drunk depending on how much you smoke or eat.

kid...point noted....the article does not say what the paraphernalia was.......pipe, bags, scales....who knows. Kinda depends. If he had all the packaging stuff and had the scanneron, it leads me to believe he is wanting to be one step ahead of the cops. I have one too but its for listening enjoyment, not to further my illegal business.

legalize marijuana! is it really a drug? its no more lethal than coffee, hell cigs are a narcotic. Pot is a class b drug, like coffee like aspirin c'mon people this war is been going on too long, hell are forefathers were hemp farmers whats up with that? I think too many people saw reefer madness and base there opinions from that. Remember its non habit forming you cant o.d. on it, bad thing though you might gain a little weight from the munchies!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ibroofer: please enlighten us on how a scanner means hes a dealer?? and the paraphernalia?? every smoker in the world has a piece to smoke out of...or paraphernalia.

an adult selling drugs to other consenting adults. to bad he cant just apply for something like...oh...a liquor license to do the SAME thing legally. hypocrites. hypocrites. hypocrites. this drug is ok...but this one isnt..

Throw him in with the other over 2.2 million Americans we have incarcerated. If we work really hard on this "war on drugs" we can not only lead the world in per capita incarceration rates we can more than double the per capita incarceration rates of the current second second place world leader - Russia. I can't wait to help spend over 24K per year for this guy to sit in jail sober instead of sitting at home high.

bennetonf1 you only picked out the $50, scanner and perscription drugs from the list of other things. Are those legal for most? Yes. When you look at all the things the police disclosed they found, I think you can put together he was a dealer. Paraphernalia and the scanner are typical of drug dealers. I doubt they arrested the guy for his own prescription. Pills not his would be illegal. Guess what? Those are sold illegally too. I am no lawyer or cop but certain places means he was selling within the area of a schhool or park or something. I got the picture from the atricle and can read between the lines. Thanks for watching out for my neighborhood JPD

MadeinUSA I think cigarettes kill more people than POT does. I also think and know cigarettes are addicting. Honestly legalize the stuff and let the government regulate it and tax the hell out of it. Then maybe my my tax bill will go down since I and everyone else wont need to pay huge property taxes to keep all those cops employment. I dont some the stuff but I am able to look at this issue from a different standpoint.

Thank YOU to the Street Crimes Unit for removing some more drugs and another pusher from the street.

Possessing more than a 1/2 pound of weed is NOT legal for medicinal purposes EVEN in statest where it is LEGAL to do so.

Selling drugs is a crime with victims of use and abuse; it creates dependant drug users and almost always creates victims of children that are within those addicts' lives. Thank You to all LEOs involved.
