If he was an American, he could have got a bed here. Then he'd be billed an obscene amount, lose his home, and end up bankrupt.

Let me know when he's thought to be stranded in an experimental balloon, then this will be newsworthy.

Do we hear stories of people waiting for "suitable
hospital beds" in this country??
NO because 1/2 of America can't afford a suitable hospital bed!

Waiting for "a suitable hospital bed" to be available happens in this country all the time. It's just never reported.

Why was this even posted? Seems intended to throw more "fuel" on the fire. Also, isn't there typically some type of HIPAA protection for an individual being treated within the United States? Having a "friend" relay private information is just opening up a can of worms. Also, a lack of beds is a common occurrence in an ICU - Most of the Med Flights that you see flying overhead are transferring patients to other hospitals due to this very reason.

This is newsworthy? Sounds like more fear-mongering to me.
