MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Tomah Police Department says it will release a video showing Rep. Jeffrey Wood being arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after all.

Police Chief Wesley Revels said Friday morning that releasing the video taken from a squad car during Wednesday’s arrest would hurt Wood’s ability to get a fair trial.

Revels reversed his position Friday afternoon after media outlets protested. He said he has decided to make the video public next week after consulting with the city attorney.

The State Patrol released video from Wood’s two other arrests on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs in the past 10 months.

Wood said Friday he will not run for re-election next year.

Actually, ljs64, you're not totally right. The conventional and most common use of the word drunk does imply alcohol. However, according to www.dictionary.com the following is also a meaning for "drunk":
.
pertaining to or caused by intoxication or intoxicated persons.
.
Having too much ANYTHING can be toxic, making you intoxicated. Either way, dude was wrong and stupid!
.
Speaking of stupid....what's your deal with hannah? Are you some sort of protocologist wannabe? Sure do have an obsession with riding her a$$

Don't worry momof5.......If I'm out driving after having a few, I'll just make sure I'm carrying a couple of orange balloons with me. That way if I suspect that Hannah is on my tail, I could release them and that should distract her enough so that I am able to safely get away........:)

Who cares?! What's wrong 916? Afraid hannah might turn you in someday after you've had a drink or two or six if she sees you driving your Suburban erradict?
.
Where's lovebeingmarried when you need her? I mean, seriously! Rep. Wood didn't hurt anyone and he feels really bad. What's the big deal? (LMAO!!!!)

"Rep. Jeffrey Wood said he was out on a day pass Wednesday from an inpatient treatment facility when he was arrested in Tomah in western Wisconsin. He acknowledged he took more prescription medication than was prescribed, even though a police report said he initially told officers he took the correct dosage of an anti-depression pill."

Hannah.....Are you talking about the girl that you followed through the countryside while involving 2 different police departments and then stopped at a bar to have a drink so you could watch the cops arrest her? If I'm not mistaken, she was not drunk and they let her go......correct?

Since he did not have alcohol in his system, I'm wondering whether his assertion that he took too much fluoxetine (Prozac) is what the toxicology report will show. Failing that, I'm wondering when his last brain scan was. This may be physiological. In any case, this video will show dangerously erratic driving, but it won't show drunk driving.

Hockeyjockey--He's a Wisconsin state assemblyman who had the majority of his constituents put him in that position. Obviously the guy has substance abuse issues--anyone will tell you that this has no bearing on intelligence. I tend to agree with NV on this--Obama and his foolish policies pushed Wood over the edge.......:)

You're saying Rep. Wood is reasonably intelligent?

Correct NV.......The way he has been handling key issues such as health care, the economy and foreign policy would drive any reasonably intelligent American to drink.........
