You may think that if you don't smoke and don't drink that you will not be affected by these higher taxes. Think again. As with everything in this world, we will all be affected. Some effects will be good and some effects will be bad.

there are no jobs, and yet these dimwits keep raising taxes, its like they want to see people living in the streets.but i guess they dont have to worry they have good paying jobs and dont have to worry about being homeless or their bills not being paid.

As long as they don't open the booze while driving, I'll welcome the Illinois folks to come and spend their money in Wisconsin.

LMAO What a joke, cigarettes go up in WI, liquor goes up in Il. and now phones are going up today to help the so called 911 centers. Housing taxes continue to rise utilities continue to rise and yet our incomes are decreasing. How do they expect people to afford all of this??? Give me a break. Keep taxing all of us and no one will be left working! The goverment is already getting 33% of our income and it keeps going up. Soon we will all be on public aid since there wont be anything left in our paychecks. Thank you goverment for making our lives so much better!

Bring 'em in. Lord knows we haven't had an alcohol tax increase in over 40 years.

Wisconsin needs to make law and install some tools booths on 90 and charge the flatlanders that cross our borders like they do to us. Just a thought

Each state competing to see who can tax their subjects more... nice. And before the people come along and say "it's ONLY drinkers & smokers, they deserve to pay more" - well, after they tax all the users of these products out of existence, who do you think is going to make up the lost (tax) revenue? Be honest with yourself and you will come up with the answer...

That's ok. Wisconsin smokers will probably go to Illinois for cigarettes, so it's a trade off.
