Which is it spark. You mean dub190 WILL have a hissy fit, or the mental midget WON'T get be out hunting in a couple weeks? Its easy to buy a gun, either legally or illegally spark, and if the guy is out there shining deer its rather obvious he has no problem with violating established hunting laws. Perhaps, like they are trying to do with drunk drivers, they could make the penalty for anyone using a firearm in a way that endangers the general public a felony. Of course the background check methodology would need to be enhanced to have any real chance of making it more difficult for idiots to have guns.

Don't have a hissy fit dub190. I'm sure he won't have any problem getting another gun and be out hunting again in a couple of weeks.

My bad, spark. Being in possession of a firearm is what I meant but I didn't make that clear.

In other words, you CAN shine deer without being in possession of a firearm up till 10:00 p.m.

JCK - It's not illegal to shine deer. It's illegal to shine year while being in possession of a firearm. You can drive around and shine them just to see them.
-
chemical_6 - I'ts illegal to shoot deer after dark, therefore it's illegal to use a light to blind them.

For starters, chemical_6, you can't hunt in the dark and this took place at 4 a.m. But shining deer in general is illegal, I believe.

Why is that illegal? I don't hunt so I am not familiar with the laws... is it because the animal cannot see you? I don't get it.
