Beloit's Gun Club restaurant destroyed in fire
By Steve Benton WCLO
BELOIT — One of Beloit's long time, well known restaurants, burned to the ground early this morning.
Firefighters from the town of Turtle, town of Beloit, and city of Beloit responded to the Gun Club restaurant, 1122 East Colley Road, shortly after 5 am.
Town of Beloit Fire Department Capt. Rich Tippelt, acting P.I.O. at the scene, said three-quarters of the building was fully involved in flames when they arrived on the scene.
The fire was considered "under control" at 8:45 a.m., but firefighters remained on the scene putting water on "hot spots." The building is considered a "total loss."
Tippelt said estimated loss hasn't been determined, and the cause is under investigation.

What is the best Supper Club in Beloit now? 615, Liberty Inn, Butterfly, Bendetti's...? I've not been to any, had planned on Gun Club, but was too late...

I, too, hope they rebuild, however, some of that "old timber" was part of the charm.
Supper clubs were something my parents raved about, and all we have is the Gun Club and the Butterfly Club (Billy's 615 hasn't been the same since he passed)

The last place my dad and I ate out at before he passed away. It was one of the few local places left where you could order escargot. Please rebuild if you can.

How terrible. I have been going there since the 70"s. My son worked as a bus boy in the 80's there. We loved the Gun Club. Some things can't be replaced, but sure hope they rebuild.
