Search on Turtle Lake turns up empty
DELAVAN TOWNSHIP -- Emergency personnel were unable to locate anyone in danger Thursday night after a neighbor reported hearing cries for help.
Sheriff David Graves said the sheriff's office received an emergency call about 7:30 p.m. reporting that someone may have fallen through the ice and could be heard crying for help.
Graves said a helicopter equipped with a thermal-detecting infra-red device searched the area, along with divers from the sheriff's office.
“After an extensive search with helicopter and boats in the water for about four hours, we could not positively say that anyone went through the ice,” Graves said.
Fire departments, including Lake Geneva and the towns of Delavan and Darien, aided in the search.
Graves said the search ended minutes before 11 p.m. Thursday.

JohnWickett, Thank you for (almost) reminding me what this blog was about.
Got WAY off track and into the grammatical world, as usual.
Looking forward to some open water fishing and not having to worry about "safe or not" ice.
Bring on the sun!

If someone goes "ice-fishing" this time of year and falls through the surface, will Anybody hear them call out for help? If No One hears them but No Body believes him/her, then will Some One hear and tell Another One to call 9-1-1 and will Any One respond? If not, later in spring, I'm sure Some Body will surface to settle the grammatical debate.

beeferer – Herman’s Hermits was bobb1951’s favorite group in the 60’s and bobb pays homage to them by interjecting the lead singer’s name whenever and wherever he can. It’s just an aging Hippie thing. Personally, I happen to like Mrs. Brown’s daughter.

Nothing unusual, blogs turn into a school session who did this wrong? and who spelled this wrong? WHO CARES! Can't we all just get along?

Sometimes I read the posts and just laugh. justme46, why did you put an apostrophe at the end of the word posts? The word posts is plural and the word posts' denotes possession. My forte is spelling, not grammar, but I know when to use an apostrophe. A good proofreader would have proofread their own post.

I have told the Gazette on many of these posts', that I am a wonderful proofreader, but they don't hire me. And, for all who are grammar police, LEAVE BOBB ALONE!

bobb- since we're pointing out errors, "noone" isn't even a word although you use that particular combination of letters quite often in your posts.
