MILTON -- The Dane County Bomb Squad on Friday afternoon found an 8-inch-long pipe bomb stuffed with gun powder and shrapnel in a garage on the north end of Milton along Highway 26.

The bomb squad was trying to diffuse the bomb at 4:20 p.m. Friday on the east end of the property, Milton police said.

A 16-year-old Milton boy was arrested at Milton High School earlier Friday in connection with the incident, Milton police said.

The teen's family member went to a detached garage at 1:30 p.m. and found what appeared to be a pipe bomb, police said.

The family reported the incident to Milton police. The bomb squad was called. The bomb squad used a robot to determine whether the device is dangerous.
