UPDATE: Fire at Gun Club called "suspicious"
TURTLE TOWNSHIP—Rock County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded at 1:51 a.m. Friday to 1122 E. Colley Road, for "a report of The Gun Club being on fire again," according to a Rock County Communications Center dispatcher.
More deputies were called to the scene at 3:15 a.m. and investigators remained on scene to investigate after the fire was put out.
Town of Turtle Fire Chief Tim Huffman calls the fire suspicious. He says gas and electric service to the structure was disconnected.
The landmark restaurant was destroyed by fire Aug. 7. The fire, which was ruled as arson, destroyed the building and left behind an estimated $1 million in damage, according to a previous Janesville Gazette story.
Huffman says the remaining structure, including the bar area, was fully engulfed when crews arrived.
