JANESVILLE--Janesville’s free, downtown health clinic has a new leader.

Jean Randles, 41, Janesville, officially becomes the new executive director Tuesday, said Mike Dow, a member of the board of directors and hiring committee.

“I think it will be a really good fit and it’s a great organization,’’ she said in reaction to being offered the job earlier this week.

Until Dec. 31, Randles was program and human resources director at KANDU, a local nonprofit organization that provides work opportunities for disabled adults through its production services for companies.

She also is an adjunct instructor at Blackhawk Technical College where she teaches courses on working effectively together, student success and human resources plus works on the adventure ropes course.

“I bring nonprofit experience and have experience working with and developing program services,” Randles said.

“I also have 17 years of human resources experience,’’ she said.

Dow said those skills are what set Randles apart from the more than two-dozen applicants and five finalists.

melstew47 - Unfortunately, that is what happens when there aren't enough resources. HealthNet is funded by grants, donations and volunteers. The need for their services is overwhelming. Where else is there to go if you don't have insurance or lots of cash?

melstew... just a thought... it sounds like there is the expectation for an organization to take care of people when it sounds like there are many people who don't want to extend the energy to advocate for themselves when it comes to getting health care help. It also sounds like there are ungrateful people who don't realize they should really be grateful there is even a HealthNet. Are you aware of what their caseload is? Are you aware of what is done there is a single day? Do you realize that most of HealthNet is volunteerism? Just some thoughts.

I was asking the same thing as I've been in contact with Traci about a couple things, no mention of her leaving.

What happened with Traci Rogers? The Healthnet article from yesterday didn't mention that Traci was leaving HealthNet.
