MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A Wisconsin task force has so far charged 20 people with committing some form of election fraud during the 2008 election.

According to figures released by the state Justice Department, six people have been charged with voter registration misconduct and 11 people have been charged with being a felon but still voting.

Two people were charged with double voting. Another was charged with obtaining an absentee ballot in his dead wife's name so he could fulfill her dying wish to vote for President Barack Obama

Prosecutors from the Justice Department and Milwaukee County formed the task force in September 2008.

Republican lawmakers want voters to show photo identification at the polls to cut down on voter fraud. But opponents say widespread voter fraud doesn't exist in Wisconsin.

Mouse - You said - Another Dem attack by a Rep? You should know what's that's like Mouse. You do just the opposite daily. Also tell people their lives aren't as rosey as they appear. Let me ask you something. Do you know everyone personally? Know what their lives are like? Because it's quite apparent, you are the one living the sad life. Constant complaints, jealously and misery.

You also said - lets admit it you have no chance in your prove everyone wrong life. Slam teachers - no ice rink - no trains - high medical insurance - less legal recourse for wrong doing, and on and on. You are one sorry piece of work.

I actually have supported teachers and the ice rink and have never said anything about less legal resources. My past posts have stated that. If you are going to spew crap, make sure it's legitimate. Education Mouse. It go's a long way.

For those who don't think needing an ID to vote is necessary, then lets not use an ID for anything like buying alcohol. Oh but wait...(Left wing excuse coming)...that's different.

Yep nothing to see here, it never happens, so why pass a law to fix it. Just like speeding, the only people speeding are the ones who get a ticket. The only ones drunk driving are the ones caught. Nobody ever gets away with breaking the law. Look at the loons that think it is no big deal because only six got caught. I wonder if they read about the two that got caught in NY state as well?

No bother though, it never happens, and its not a big deal...

I assume all polling stations in Wisconsin work the same; you give your name and address, this is double checked in the book, by the workers.
When they look in the book why can't it say "FELON" after the name, then they know not to ley you vote? 11 of the 20 violators were felons.

I would not like to see the "real" numbers of vote fraud. These are the only ones they "caught." ID to vote is the way to go.

Another Dem attack by Rep. Lets go back a few years to Florida, before we start making this a one sided issue.

We DON'T NEED a Voter ID? There is no FRAUD in Wisconsin, At least not according to the Democrats. At least not one who obtained a ballot in his dead wifes name so he could fulfill her dying wish to elect Obama, reminds me of all the dead people who voted for JFK in Chicago which gave him just enough votes to win election.............
