well put raystone. maybe the Gazette could just offer to bus the people to the rallies. Of course, considering the mentality of the passengers, it would be a short bus complete with skid lids.

How accommodating of the Gazette staff to post this recall rally flyer. We usually don't get street address and time unless it's in the events section. Maybe they can add driving directions or a map next time. How many of the Gazette staff have spouses who are teachers ?

Typical response suggesting that people who don't agree with you leave the country. If our founding fathers took your advice, they would have moved to another country instead of standing and fighting for a better place to live. Brilliant advice, Johnny.
-
Do you contribute to Social Security, Medicare? Do you drive on public roads, use public schools, public hospitals? Do you eat food? Our government subsidizes many foods and farm products. Do you bank or own a car? Our government just bailed out many banks and auto companies. We're all socialists. You're a socialist, Johnny. Come on, say it with me, Johnny. "I'm a Socialist!" See, it wasn't that hard to say, was it?

More Mensan dialog from feduptaxpayer.

You are a troll. You came here in October and drool this type of crap onto others. nicksmom, you do not have to respond to this moronic troll's questions. I am guessing that you already know this. The gazette should look close at this trolls dribble and see if it needs to be exorcised from here.

feduptaxpayer is likely the reincarnation of of other teabag type trolls that have come and gone from here in recent months. It is not very smart, it has very little to say. I am guessing that it will mysteriously disappear like the other trolls did.

-
Nobody could argue more eloquently for equitable distribution of income than you just did, Bill. This is a very wealthy nation and there is no reason you had to make concessions and adjustments, other than to capitulate to the redistribution of your income to the wealthy. That increasing gap in the distribution of income is partially responsible for the obscene, and increasing, gap in wealth. The solution is not to expect others to join you in your lifetime of concessions and adjustments. The solution is to demand an equitable distribution of income.
-
And for the RAFs (Republican Academy of Followers) out there, equitable distribution of income does not mean that everyone makes the same wage.

My concern is for the employees who will lose their job when there budget can't be stretched anymore.
The money paid in taxes is not there to spend and thereby give someone a job. And so ---when the budget is tight there needs to be cuts.
It is not a good thing to use you credit card when you cannot earn enough to pay the bill. Seems simple enough but very difficult to swallow.
Please look at the situation globally, in a couple years you and I will see how many people and countries have spent beyond their means.
It could get much worse. Wisconsin is
in reasonable shape now but our neighbors to the south will soon be coming here for help. Batten the hatches.

The whole point of a recall is to force the elected official to face the people in another election. Nothing more. Nothing less. If recalled, Gov Walker will face someone else in another election. He is free to govern until then.

This governor has mislead the people of the state. There were no campaign promises of busting unions, increasing state payments to private charter schools, or giving businesses a free ride when they SELL their business (they now pay ZERO capital gains when they SELL one, not start one).

Any budget that makes it more expensive to get an education and at the same time rewarding fat cats at the top is bad news in my book. This guy needs to go.

To vote you have to be registered and your name has to be on the list in your ward. So ID should not be needed. To sign the recall petition, no such safeguards are in place so if folks like Billy are trying to commit fraud, then I hope they do ask for ID.

Umm Factspleae? I think you have your facts wrong. All you have to do is be a resident of the state. You do not have to be registered to vote. All you have to do is provide name and address. I could be wrong but I don’t think so. The “fraud” would be if you lie about your name or address on the form.

Sarah B1, what is more important is you completely missed the hypocrisy of the person taking signatures for the recall. They are against voter ID but insisted you have an ID to sign the petition. It does not matter if they are wrong about that or not, they don’t have a clue what they are for or why.

What will the union party run on...Raise taxes and cutjobs ???? Hopefully non public sector union employees will see the light.. I just don't understand why folks think that its ok for public sector payroll and benefits be negoitiated by unions. The public sector unions do not have the public in their best interest. It is not ok for a group of people to get together and force our taxes higher and higher for their own vacations, pensions, payroll, etc... God Bless Walker for trying to save this state. It's sorta like when the Packers got rid of Farve and all the haters come out and scream and cry..Well take a look at the Packers now. It's Working

I have no problem with Murray and Rashkin speaking as private citizens. The problem is if they portray themselves as representative of the views of the school board and the city council then it becomes a problem. They do not represent all school board or council members or all the people of Janesville/Rock County.

I am very upset. I went to sign one of these petitions and was asked to produce a drivers license to prove I was who I said I was. I asked the person circulating the petition if this wasn't similar to voter ID and they said no because they had to protect against fraud. I then asked if this wasn't denying me my right to sign simply because I did not have or could not afford an ID and they became confused. Finally I asked how they felt about the passage of the voter ID bill and they stammered a bit before stating it was one of the reasons Walker needed to be recalled. Always nice to interact with future leaders in the democratic party.
