EAU CLAIRE—A Navy lieutenant who was killed in Afghanistan is being remembered in the Wisconsin city where he attended high school.
Twenty-eight-year-old Christopher Mosko was one of three U.S. troops killed by a bomb Thursday.

While the Defense Department lists him as being from the Rochester, N.Y., suburb of Pittsford, his family says they lived there for several years but that he was born in Philadelphia and was living in San Diego, where his unit was based.
Mosko was a 2002 graduate of Eau Claire Memorial High School who participated in soccer, swimming and show choir. The Eau Claire Leader-Telegram reports that his family moved away not long after he graduated, but that he’s still remembered by residents who knew him then as a well-rounded student and passionate soccer player.

winstonchill - I agree, we have thousands of troops dedicating their lives, I dont know if they know it but I think they are being tricked. Their paycheck comes from the USA, but the work they are doing is not for us...its so sad thousands of lives are on the line and for what?

So we should dump billions of dollars and our peoples' lives that we cant afford into their country? Thats what our military costs. Im sick of reading about our soldiers being killed over there, and then them and people thinking its for "our" country. People need to do some research, we are funding other peoples problems.

Sigma40-We should care about the people of Afghanistan because they weren't the ones who wanted the U.S.A. to come in. Jeez Loise.

Look at all the people in the USA whose job supports the war effort. No war = no jobs. So we invent stuff, or volenteer to fight others battles to keep ourselves here working. Billions of dollars....

Who cares about the people of Afghanistan, why should our people die for them? Vietnam part II. I think the only reason this is continuing is because of the jobs it creates. Man are we dumb.

bassman - our president is ending this the best way that he can. I feel sorry for the people of Afghanistan when we're finally gone, and the Taliban take over again, and get the list of everyone that helped us.
