WAUKESHA — Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan will be making their first stop in Wisconsin together as presidential and vice presidential running mates.

The Romney campaign says the pair will hold a "homecoming rally" Sunday at the Waukesha County Expo Center. Doors open at 4 p.m. and the event starts at 5:30 p.m.

Gov. Scott Walker is also scheduled to attend.

Romney is the presumptive Republican nominee. He picked the 42-year-old Ryan and seven-term congressman as his running mate Saturday.

"In 2010 -- the only year we have seen a full return from him -- Romney would have paid an effective tax rate of around 0.82 percent under the Ryan plan, rather than the 13.9 percent he actually did. How would someone with more than $21 million in taxable income pay so little? Well, the vast majority of Romney's income came from capital gains, interest, and dividends. And Ryan wants to eliminate all taxes on capital gains, interest and dividends." [ http://www.theatlantic.com/business/arch... ]

These posts are Hilarious. Maybe we should all go back to the "good old days" when we were all chasing WMD and going heavily into debt. Isn't it great to blame the present administration for the ills of the past?

Excellent Point WOODY & let us not forget that Mormons are a CULT. It is sad to see church going evangelical Republicans now supporting Romney. I guess they don't know much about the Mormon faith OR thinking it's more important to be a Republican than hold true to their own Christian faith.

purplethehelmet, and a medicare and social security saving economic plan to reduce the Obama deficit. I would say Paul Ryan has more experience to be President then Barak Obama, our 100 days Senator who voted "present" on most of the bills he never brought to the floor.

Aug 12, 2012 at 12:35 - Sorry you miss the real reason for the ObamaTax. It has nothing to do with healthcare or it would have provided healthcare. It's about controlling the masses with taxes and mandates. It's about forcing the population to comply with government rule and the majority of Americans still oppose and reject it. Soon Obama will feel that rejection first hand since 2010 did nothing to wise him up.

Did anyone else see the crash on E Milwaukee st the other night? It is in todays paper. A bicyclist was struck by a car at the dangerous crossing. The cyclist should sue the city of Janesville for not doing more to make the crossing safer. The city needs to educate pedestrians that not all cars are going to see you and stop as they carelessly dart out in to the street.

old_badger, ObamaTax is not free, it has caused insurance premiums to increase 20% and there will be a shortage of physicians. There is a 15 member panel appointed by HHS who will decide if you are worth the medical cost and 65% of the nation still oppose it.
It does nothing for dental or optical care and slashes Medicare 500 billion dollars.
It's a loser for everyone.

Wislady - I am looking forward to the full implementation of the Obama Cares plan. It will be great for the people that don't have or can't get health care. It will actually reduce the deficit according to the CBO. They also showed that the republican plan would increase the deficit. Sounds like this is a win win for the American people.
.
Too bad Obama can't get the full credit for this plan because it was originally a republican idea.

Mooshoe......the point being made was that Ryan is the same man now that he was when he and Romney were in Janesville a couple of weeks ago. A very influential politician and someone that the people of this country need right now......It seems that all of your hours and hours "surfing the net" has led you to concentrate too much on titles and less on the person behind the title. Not surprising though considering many of the clueless posts attributed to you.....keep trying though. If you work on your own comprehension and thought processes without relying on only what you find surfing the net maybe you could come off as a smarter more enlightened person......good luck!

Please hit the reload button on your "news". Why are you citing politifact on 2011 stories?
Why do you also refer to the original Ryan plan? The revised plan of 2012 is not the same as the 2011 plan.....

Most all of the attack ads on the "Ryan plan" are relating to the original plan, and are misleading (to say the least). Even the "granny ad", is relating to the original.

Here is a newer link for you to use.

Mooshoe.....there's your problem! Your conclusions drawn straight from "surfing the net". The internet seems to have a swaying effect on simple minds such as yours:) I'm telling you right now that Ryan was the same person now as he was a couple of weeks ago when he made an appearance in Janesville with Romney and Walker. Is he in the news more because of the VP slot? Of course he is. He had an immense amount of political capital then as he does now. To say that he is "turning his back on Janesville" simply because Romney scheduled a rally close to Milwaukee is desperate and pathetic. Not at all surprising considering the people making those claims. I seriously doubt the for sale sign has gone up in Ryan's front yard........

He doesn't need to come to Janesville. I already know who he is... He is a slick willy that doesn't care about the working class, education, environment... He cares about himself, other rich people, and that is it. This deficit crap is just a front to get more money from the working class and more tax breaks for the rich. Let's see his tax returns. I know I payed more than Romney's 13.9% in taxes every year.
.
Just like personal finances if you are in debt, you look at income AND expenses. This isn't just a one sided equation. No taxes alone won't help but gutting government isn't the answer either. Let us try a balanced approach. I don't even care paying more in taxes for the good of the country, state and local community. It is time to start making smart decisions. Romney and Ryan aren't the answer. Obama is great but better for the country the Romney and Ryan.
