Bielema thinks Alvarez might coach in Rose Bowl
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Former Wisconsin coach Bret Bielema says he won't coach the Badgers in the Rose Bowl. He has an idea who might, however.
Wisconsin athletic director Barry Alvarez has a news conference scheduled for Thursday morning where he's expected to discuss staffing for the Rose Bowl. Alvarez was Bielema's predecessor at Wisconsin, and there's speculation he'll return to the sideline when the Badgers play Stanford on Jan. 1.
"I think he's actually coaching their bowl game," Bielema said Wednesday during his introduction as Arkansas' coach. "I just heard that before I came here, which would be awesome. They might finally win one. Everyone tells me he won three and I lost two."
Bielema declined to speculate on who his permanent replacement might be, saying whoever Alvarez chooses "will be awesome."

Please. not 4 hours of Alverez' ego on camera during the game. Hope he stays in his luxury box, or better yet, goes to Arkansas with his buddy.

Right on Rex... From day one I did not like Bielema's coaching efforts. Don't spend your 3.2 million because when you fail miserablely at Arkansas you won't get a job anywhere else.

Will just have to wait and see because I have seen no official announcement from UW yet. Till then to me it's just a rumor.

Why, exactly do I give a crap about what Brett Bielema thinks? I didn't much care for his deep thoughts when he was losing big games for UW, much less now when he's moved on to losing bigger games for another program.

Yes, it is still a " might". Barry Alvarez will make an official announcement regarding who will coach at the Rose Bowl during a press conference at 10 a.m. tomorrow. So, yes, nothing is official until then - meaning "might".

This was announced hours ago and the best the Gazette has is "might"?
Not exactly Johnny on the spot.
