UPDATE:Janesville man found in house with dead wife in 'fair' conditon
JANESVILLE—A Janesville man found in “medical distress” in his house where police discovered his dead wife Saturday is in fair condition, a hospital official said.
Krystofer Carlisle, of 315 W. Racine St., Janesville was taken to Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville early Saturday after police found his estranged wife, Traci Moyer dead inside the house.
The hospital late Saturday listed Carlisle in critical condition with undisclosed medical problems. A nursing supervisor at the hospital said his condition today has stabilized, and his status has improved to fair condition.
Police have not said whether Carlisle, 54, is suspected of involvement in the apparent murder of the 46-year-old Moyer, but a Janesville police official said Saturday that there was thought to be no threat to the public of a suspect on the loose.
The official said on Saturday that police had not spoken with Carlisle. Police were looking at the death as a homicide Saturday.
Investigators were withholding more details of the death or the status investigation pending a forensic autopsy for Moyer that was scheduled this morning, police said.
Moyer had filed court papers to divorce Carlisle, according to court records, and she was apparently not living with Carlisle in the days leading up to her apparent Murder, police and neighbors said.
