Details of economic development audit coming
MADISON—An independent auditor is expected to release details of its investigation into the state’s semi-private economic development agency that’s been beset with problems during its first 18 months in existence.
Accounting firm Schenck SC was expected to discuss its findings at a meeting Monday of a Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. audit committee. The accounting firm was hired by WEDC to perform the audit in the wake of several missteps, including failure to carefully track $56 million in loans to businesses.
The audit was also to be discussed at a full WEDC board meeting on Tuesday in Eau Claire.
Also on Monday, the interim head of WEDC, Reed Hall, was scheduled to appear before a state Senate committee looking at how the agency is organized and what changes could be made.

I know some of you will scream...."off topic", but this is about lack of transparency. Scrutiny of DPI, is non existent.
If you are serious about transparency, why don't you ask Tony Evers about his new program created in 2009, "CREATE WISCONSIN".
Some parents might not approve of the fact that some of the "training programs" have been led by Glenn Singleton.

The “cultural sensitivity” teacher training program created by Evers in 2009, has been well hidden from public scrutiny, including the taxpayer cost.
Perhaps taxpayers would like to know if the programs are really "cultural sensitivity" or how to indoctrinate our children. How does this program improve on teaching reading and math?
"Government transparency is a critical tool in the public’s accountability arsenal, so long as the public can afford it."
"But when dealing with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI), transparency comes with a five-figure price tag."

Maybe you should check Barca's pockets. He was on the committee also that set the program up, and he sits on the board. He certainly is not blameless, if you insist on pointing fingers.
Everyone on the board, who should have been meeting frequently, are to blame. Nothing illegal, and no money is "missing".
Was the accountability failing...yes. And the steps to correct it have been taken.

Rep. Peter Barca, D-Kenosha, said the audit shows that the decision to transform the state Department of Commerce into WEDC "without any real planning is a huge problem."
.
Walker...no real planning...

wislady apparently has a reading/comprehension problem. The very first problem is that one Scott Walker is COB so why did he let this get to the point that it did?

So the steps have been taken to improve the accountability, nothing has been stolen. Peter Barca, who also is on the board, will work with everyone to make sure the program works as designed. I guess he didn't see the problem either.
