MADISON—A storm expected to hit Wisconsin this week could leave as much as a foot of snow in the Madison area.

A Wisconsin State Journal report says forecasters are predicting 6 to 12 inches could fall along a line from Monroe to Madison, Beaver Dam and Fond du Lac.

The National Weather Service says the storm is expected to hit Wednesday night into Thursday.

The agency says gusty winds up to 40 mph could create blizzard conditions.

Areas along Lake Michigan are expected to receive more rain than snow because of winds off the lake.

Meteorologists are expecting temperatures this week from the mid-20s to high 30s.

Just think if we could all put a 50% chance on anything at work and still be considered to be doing a good job! As much as I love the white stuff too, I'd like it to miss the midwest because I've got a long drive home for Christmas on Thursday and would love to not be doing 45mph on the interstate in a white out!

It's way to early to tell,as we all know. Predictions are predictions and, the path can always change.I would love to have a big storm but, what I really want is the cold and ice thick enough to fish !!!!

The Winter Storm Watch does not include Rock County. Just hope we get enough for a white Christmas. Then it can melt.

So was it Doyle that put all of those electronic freeway barriers in place? It's a good idea to have barriers, but I'm surprised they installed them in some of the places that they did. Some of the ramps still have the old manual barricades sitting by the ramp entrances.

vnvet. so true. Listen to WCLO in the am and then read THEIR Gazette that they publish. IT is never the same. Read your paper and then tell us what your paper says. WHY is it different. IF the weather comes from MAdsion then print what Madsion says. They should match!! Seems foolish to me.
Yes bring it on. I like it white for xmas. Then the rest don't care take it or leave it.
Her come the idiot drivers who cannot figure it out now.
Another OLD lady cannot navigate E milw st. Come out of medical center into oncoming traffic. Luckily I was in the right lane and not the left lane or she woudl have run into me. IF a car is coming at you and you see white lanes best not to pull into that lane!!! Look for a YELLOW line and stay right of that.UGH!!!!

Here we go again, "The sky is falling, the sky is falling". From the great meteorologists that couldn't predict rain in a hurricane ! Could be, chance of, possibility of ,might be. When are these people going to learn that you can't predict Mother Nature. They give us a prediction for weather a week in advance, but can't get today's weather correct. I wish I had a job that would pay me for being wrong most of the time !

It sounds exciting but I'll translate to what we will get in Janesville:
.
"A mix of snow and rain with 1" of slushy accumulation"

I hope I'm wrong though. I miss the days of a crippling snow fall.
