MADISON, Wis. — Homes sales in Wisconsin climbed nearly 25 percent in November — the 17th consecutive month of growth.

The Wisconsin Realtors Association says that while sales continue to rise, the median sale price declined slightly. Wisconsin Realtors chairman David Clark says there’s no doubt the state housing market has “seen a real bounce this year.”

The November growth in sales compares with the same month last year. Realtors aren’t sure what’s behind the median price decline of about 2 percent. The median price in Wisconsin is $129,000. Until last month, the median price had risen for eight straight months.

The Journal Sentinel says that before the residential real estate market collapsed six years ago, the median price was about 17 percent higher.

Because people are buying all the forclosed houses. Way to give a false impression that someone is making a difference in a good way!!!

is it policies or is it the American people? All this praise and criticism of politicians for things they sometimes have no power over in reality just shows how much faith we put into these people and the systems they 'lead'. We were in a very messy economic situation, all of it was lumped on to Bush, did he deserve some blame? Sure it was on his watch, the wars didn't help and he sat on his hands however if you look at things realistically you see the housing market collapse was contributed by policies made in the 1990's and the global economic crisis contributed to ours, much of the global crisis has occurred due to overspending by many governments, those are just a few reasons for it. It is never as simple as many portray it, but then again their partisan agenda tends to trump reality. When asked why the 90's were prosperous and the last few years not so much, partisans can rarely pinpoint the reasons.

916- It is National Policies that are helping us get out of the crisis, not state policies. No one should be thanked- it's their job to do.

analert......Using that same logic regarding the housing market, shouldn't we also be thanking Governor Walker? The Democrats repeated the claim time and time again that his policies would compromise Wisconsin's economy. More than halfway though his administration, we now have an increase in home sales signaling an economic turnaround within our state. Let's join to gather in letting our Governor know what a great job he is doing! I can't wait to see what he has in store for us during his second term!

Joy- I think carlito posted a " Thankyou, Mr. President" because throughout the election the Republicans on thiese blogs blamed lagging housing sales and gas prices on Obama!? He/she's just proving a point.

Just try to remember that when prices rise.

Eagle - it's more like the perception people have of the power of politicians. "Mr. President" does not control oil prices. Not when Obama sits in the chair, not when (either) Bush sat in the chair, not if it was Mitt who would be sitting in the chair. Carlito is sadly mistaken.

I have been on both sides of the buying and renting, I have owned in a large market and made out well then I bought in a smaller market yet larger than Janesville and lost a ton, I won't be doing that again in this market, the downside far outweighs the upside.

I guess that people are realizing
that they will have to buy houses now
rather than rent them from Mitt.

Thanks for demonstrating why I am frightened at how much power people give politicians and the obsession people have with them.
