A winter storm watch has been issued
SULLIVAN—The national Weather Service, Sullivan, has issued a winter storm watch for the Great Lakes Region, including Rock and Walworth counties and the cities of Janesville, Beloit, Elkhorn and Lake Geneva.
The warning remains in effect from Thursday morning through Thursday evening.
The snow will begin Thursday morning and diminish by Thursday evening.
Snow accumulations of 4 to 6 inches with locally higher amounts possible are predicted with wind gusts up to 35 mph possible.
Heavy snow would cause rapidly deteriorating travel conditions. Some thunder snow is possible and the strong northwest winds would cause considerable blowing and drifting snow with the potential for whiteout conditions.
A winter storm watch means there is a potential for significant snow, sleet or ice accumulations that may impact travel.

What is the sence in complaining anyway? If it is going to come there is nothing at all anyone is going to do about it. Just live it and move on.

omg- here we go. The sky is falling. Better close school it is winter. MAybe a better plan would be stay in school in the summer and take off winter then no issue with closing because a couple inches fell.

Thekai - The people complaining about these warnings would be the the VERY FIRST people to complain if these were not issued and the storm affected them in some way.

Do the same people who are now complaining about a winter storm watch being issued in December also complain about a severe thunderstorm watch being issued in July?
Seriously, when someone complains about these warnings of storms being "common sense," you might get the feeling that we are supposed to have heavy snow storms non-stop, until Winter is over.

ljs64 - yesterday the Gazette story said 6"-12" along a line from Monroe to Madison to Beaver Dam, and it still looks like there will be much more snowfall in Madison than in Janesville.

Maybe ljs64. Are you blaming the Gazette because the wind changes directions? Sheesh!

Yesterday the Gazette reported 6"-12" today 4"-6"? What tomorrow 1"-2"?

Technically this snowstorm is due to arrive in the fall. And here's
a reminder to those out there who seem to forget each and every year- SLOW DOWN!
