Woman suspected of 5th drunken driving
JANESVILLE—A Stoughton woman was arrested in Janesville on Wednesday on suspicion of fifth-offense intoxicated driving, according to a news release from the Rock County Sheriff’s Office.
Cheryl L. Ackerman, 40, was arrested at 7:28 p.m. on Highway 14 in front of Target on Janesville’s north side. A deputy stopped Ackerman after seeing her 2000 Pontiac Grand Am swerving all over the road. The car struck the median and nearly crashed into another car, according to the news release.
Ackerman had an open can of beer in the car, according to the news release. She was ticketed for open intoxicants and unsafe lane deviation. She was scheduled to appear Thursday afternoon in court.
