Janesville man cited for fifth offense
JANESVILLE A Janesville man returning from work in Belvidere, Ill., was arrested on fifth offense drunken-driving.
Brian D. Ahlert, 41, Janesville was arrested at 8:04 p.m. Saturday at Highway 11 and South Oakhill Road, south of Janesville, according to a news release from the Rock County Sheriff’s Department.
Earlier in the evening, drivers on Interstate 90/39 had called Rock County Communications to report that a green, 1995 Chevy Lumina was “all over the road.”
Ahlert’s car was going 40 mph in a 55 mph zone before being stopped.
Ahlert told deputies he’d been drinking alcohol all day while working at the Chrysler plant in Belvidere, Ill..
Ahlert was transported to the Rock County Jail where he was held awaiting an appearance in court on Monday.
Ahlert also was cited for operating after revocation, open intoxicants in a motor vehicle and unsafe lane deviation.
