Walker says he feels 'super' since recall ended

By ASSOCIATED PRESS   Tuesday, July 31, 2012 - 11:23 a.m.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Gov. Scott Walker says he feels "super" in the two months since his recall election victory.

Walker said Tuesday not having to worry any more about the recall has allowed him to focus on other issues, like spending a full day recently touring drought damage or touting a cellphone recycling program to benefit military serving overseas.

Walker also says he's been able to have low-pressure meetings with state lawmakers since the recall. He says those meetings are an extension of talks that came at the bipartisan "brat summit" he held at the governor's mansion week after the recall.

Walker defeated Democratic Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett by 7 points in the June 5 recall.

The Scott Walker JOB CHART....
http://news.firedoglake.com/2012/05/14/s...

...and I swear that I saw the construction of the new hospital going on before January, 2011 which means those jobs were committed prior to Walker taking office (in other words a blue bird the fell in his lap). If you have more factual knowledge of this, please post it. Also, the last I saw was that the state lost another 11,000 jobs and that was after the recall election when Walker said the hiring would skyrocket - hence my calling him Rocketman Walker. Thanks!

Governor Rocketman Walker, where are the jobs you promised as in the chart at the above link.

Wislady, actually I did read the entire article. ANd policies and contracts are two separate things. For example a policy may say that no employee is allowed to do non-work related work on a agency owned computer, but a contract, that would supersede the policy, allows 30 minutes of union related business to be conducted during work hours.

fordfan,
Actually I have no problem with unions financially backing their candidate at all....Have at it, as it does balance the huge oil companies and others on the opposite side..
My comment was intended to mean that the major unions let your guy down big time...both in funds and support...All the blah blah about the nation wide problems and what a disaster to unions it was going to be if Walker was retained sure got quiet when Barrett became the candidate, and so did their funds...they thru him under the bus so they could save their money for the next Presidential election instead...so much for their support..

"The City of Madison prohibits the use of city e-mail distribution lists for political and commercial purposes. The latest iteration of the policy, set by the mayor’s office in 1999 and found in Administrative Procedure Memorandum No. 3-9, is still in effect according to City Hall. Under the heading “Prohibitions and Restrictions on Use,” and the opening line “The use of computer resources including the Internet and/or e-mail, whether in-house or external, for any of the following purposes is strictly prohibited:” item number six reads:

“For political campaign purposes, including, but not limited to, using e-mail to circulate advertising for political candidates or relating to political campaign issues.”

Obviously....concernwi didn't read the link provided earlier in my comments.

I love LOVE how the liberals still whine about Walker who has turned this state around dispite Obama's national policies. Lawless administration ignoring the constitution, executive orders or out right ignoring them by not enforcing. Suing private companies for political friends and allowing our military to disregard rules.
That my friends is what the beginnings of a dictator looks like.

Wislady, much like Tom Barrett's wife, Mahlon Mitchell may have violated a policy not a law. Because he isn't a publicly elected official or working for one like those involved in the John Doe case, there isn't a violation of law. I would be interested in seeing the City of Madison's contract said.

hd - not sure what you are asking about the unions. I am not privy to union business as I am non-union (was a member many years ago but not for the past few decades). I do know the Republican Tea Party strategy was to dry up union funds so they would have less to spend in the general elections. Fitzgerald was stupid (or arrogant) enough to say that on Fake Fox News (GOP TV). I am assuming that the unions had to budget their money to have any left for the general elections. Not sure if this is what you are asking but I am guessing that you would like to see the unions out of the political support business which would allow the 1% and big business to buy our government for less. We have a major problem in the country when we allow any entity (Tea Party support PACs, etc.) to organize and to buy our government with no organized opposition. We are far down that path already.

Just because I supported Walker does not mean that I am a Republican..I vote MY choice every time, and in every election....and to further clarify, yes, I did vote for Obama...
This Tea Party and Romney have no more interest in the common person like you and me than the Obama administration does now...so it is a toss up in my mind at the moment on how to vote...I personally like the way Ron Paul thinks... :-)
Also while I may disagree with you and others here on principle, I try not to make it personal..
It will be an interesting situation..
Also curious what your answer is to my question on the big unions selling you out ??

kay - the typical tea party response from you all is to just go out and get a job and the unemployment will drop. Since there are so many jobs available, people people must be too lazy to work. Therefore, based on that, Obama must have done his job. The ONLY able bodied people that I know who have taken unemployment when they could be working are Republicans - many are tea party Republicans who want to basically do away with unemployment, Social Security and Medicare.
