EDGERTON—Authorities have identified a woman killed in a vehicle crash Wednesday north of Edgerton as Julie Cantrell, 45, of Stoughton.

The Dane County Medical Examiner’s office released Cantrell’s identity today. She was killed after being thrown from her vehicle after it rolled over in a single vehicle crash at about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday in Albion Township.

Cantrell was eastbound on Highway 51 near County W north of Edgerton when her Mitsubishi SUV drifted onto the shoulder. She reportedly overcorrected and swerved, and her SUV rolled, throwing her from the vehicle, according to witness reports supplied by the Dane County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday.

Cantrell reportedly was not wearing a seatbelt. The medical examiner’s office reports that an investigation of the crash is ongoing and a toxicology test is pending, but it does not appear alcohol played a roll in the crash.
