Former Walker aide to enter pleas to 4 charges
MILWAUKEE (AP) — A former aide to Scott Walker before he became governor is scheduled to enter pleas to four felony charges relating to campaigning while at work for Milwaukee County.
Kelly M. Rindfleisch was Walker's deputy chief of staff when he was Milwaukee County executive. The 43-year-old Rindfleisch is accused of doing campaign work while on the clock, including fundraising for a Republican candidate for lieutenant governor.
She's scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday morning.
Rindfleisch is one of five Walker associates facing charges in a secret investigation. Another former aide has pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor charges.
Walker hasn't been charged with wrongdoing but has set up a legal defense fund. The move is allowed only for officeholders who have been charged or are under investigation for election or campaign violations.

Midnight_Ride,
This article is not about, "doing partisan political extracurricular activities during county work time." This article is about four counts of misconduct in public office (Wisconsin statute 946.12(3)). The statute states,
"Whether by act of commission or omission, in the officer's or employee's capacity as such officer or employee exercises a discretionary power in a manner inconsistent with the duties of the officer's or employee's office or employment or the rights of others and with intent to obtain a dishonest advantage for the officer or employee or another[.]"
If you already knew that, then I am surprised that you understood it to mean, "doing partisan political extracurricular activities during county work time."

"This tells me the petition was circulated during work time. Leftist hypocrisy."
It sounds like your point is they are wasting time during the day on unofficial business. (Thus comparing them to former Walker aides, some of which have been convicted of criminal offenses for campaigning on the tax payer's dime.)
I agree with your point that the judges need to be impartial. However, if "governer" Walker was making several racist comments in office, and clearly displaying racism as a core value, do you think it would still be wrong for the judges to sign the recall petition?
I've said it a hundred times. I don't want to recall Walker because he is a Republican. I don't want to recall Walker because of his policies. I want to recall Walker because of his core values. He flat out refused negotiation. He joked about taking a baseball bat to his opponents. He seriously considered planting trouble makers, and decided not to not because it would be morally wrong or because someone may get hurt or killed (Wisconsinites, maybe even law enforcement officers), nay, he decided not to plant trouble makers because it might hurt his pride.
If "governer" Walker were a Democrat, I'd still be rallying for his recall. In that sense, it doesn't necessarily paint the judges as being biased, in my opinion. If anything, I think judges who cannot see that Walker should be recalled are bias.

thekai, nobody is talking about death and sick kicks, that's just so messed up? Mental health check may be in order.
Judges are supposed to be impartial and like the voter ID law, we have serious questions about the Judge's fairness. Many more judges are left and many are right. However, the ones that signed the recall have put themselves in the spotlight. As far as the employees signing, again in the DA's office where impartial, non-partisan cases can no longer be safe in Dane county. Not that the ever were under Ozanne, but now it's spotlighted for Wisconsin.

Would you prefer that we lived in a place where it is very illegal to spend even a couple minutes away from work during the work day? If your kid is sick, you can't receive a phone call to let you know? Death in the family? Too bad, it's not work related. Someone wants to warn you of dangerous road conditions? Not work related, sorry. Need to take a quick break for a breather? Get back on the line, slave.

Education should be free. Why would we want to stay dumb? One reason there should be any cost to education is because an educator has to spend a lot of time teaching, and should be compensated for that time. Another reason for costs is the price of materials (some equipment is not cheap). However, in general, education should be free or low cost for all who desire it.

Your post was supposed to appear fair, but in fact, it was quite biased.

The TEA Party are a bunch of angry, gun-toting racists who cling to a fascist style of leadership. They believe in freedom of religion only when considering the Christian religion. WisconsinResident,
That is the question. What do we do? The solution is clear, we need campaign finance reform. The path to the solution is not as clear. How do we get there from here? I'll tell you, the TEA Party path goes in the opposite direction. The Democrats may lead you down the correct road.
The difference between the Republican party and Democratic party is the reason I vote for Democrats. Most Republicans are united, and in this way, they are a powerful force in politics. Most Democrats are individuals, with their own ideas. In this way, they are easy to pick apart and knock down. However, the advantage is a more dynamic force capable of addressing virtually any problem.
If you perform a thought experiment and imagine two scenarios, I think it might clear things up for you. Imagine our country as being unified behind one party. I know that's asking a lot, but if you can dream of flying then you should be able to imagine this. Now imagine two different scenarios.
Under one scenario, the Republicans are the party of the United States. Free enterprise, mostly small government, and strong Christian ideals. It is a dog eat dog kind of world, the poor aren't able to leach off of society, and every man is expected to fend for himself.
Now imagine the second scenario, the country is united behind the Democrats. The government is heavily invested in public education and health care. There are vast social programs to help the poor and the weak. Public policies are mostly determined by science and logic, instead of religion.
Under which scenario do you think money has more power? Under which scenario do you think the campaign finance reform we need today exists?

kaysbrew,
You have a lot of opinions about Democrats and Obama. They are just your opinions. I think Obama has done a great job, and I think if McCain had won, our country would be far worse off than it is right now. In fact, I don't think we would have killed Bin Laden, I don't think we would have saved hostages from Somali pirates, I think the current crisis in the Eurozone would have strongly affected us for the worse, and I think we would be more dependent on non-renewable energy than ever before (more so than we are today). I think our manufacturing sector would be in shambles, and because of events that occur even outside of our control, I think with McCain as our untimely leader, the world as a whole might be in a much worse position than it is today. That is only my opinion.
What we do know is that many people close to Scott Walker have been convicted of various charges, and indications seem to point to Walker as being John Doe. What we do know is that Scott Walker has hired defense attorneys and set up a defense fund as a direct result of the John Doe investigation. What we do know is that you, kaysbrew, and feduptaxpayer, and wislady, and probably a handful of others in Wisconsin will not stop defending Scott Walker no matter what. What we do know is that these same people have a very hard time crediting Obama for anything good at all, despite the fact that his fist term is full of major positive accomplishments that most likely almost all historians will recognize years from now.
You have your opinions and no one is trying to take that away from you. However, it is people like you who are making it difficult for anything to get accomplished. It is people like you who want things to get done your way and think that anyone who thinks otherwise is wrong. It is people like you who are the dead weight of society.

Gandalf,
Some may point out that Obama, "Still hasn't showed us his real birth certificate!"
It is unfair to Walker supporters that Walker is potentially under investigation for actually committing a crime, and Obama is not. It is unfair because it makes it easy for those of us who oppose Walker and support Obama to point our fingers and say, your guy is messed up. It is unfair because it gives us another talking point, and another reason to recall Walker.
If the situation were reversed, it would hold true that some Obama supporters would erroneously accuse Walker as being just as bad as Obama. The sad thing is people on both sides of the argument will never become enlightened enough to realize the difference. That being said, it is probably not worth our time to attempt to reach specific individuals who are already stuck in their ways. For these people, it is too late. Instead, we could point to the blinding ignorance as an example others should strive not to follow. There are people out there who are still seeking guidance, and our energies would be best spent showing that it is good to always keep an open mind.

Some people need to be reminded that these people are innocent until proven guilty of a crime!
Oh that's right, some of you clowns think that you are the judge, jury and executioner!

My first post, again, to point out the liberal hypocrisy. Is Walker guilty by association? Is Obama?
We have seen the answer with Obama, a fat YES, now we will wait for Walker.

I wonder just how you sleep at night. I don't have to scream Koch Bros on everypost because the liberals know that the main federal administration is the king of crony capitalism, if you know what that means.
You don't give a company billions of tax payer dollars to invent a $50.00 light bulb because your ideology is too impatient to let the market find a cheaper better bulb then the Edison. That's YOUR liberal crony capitalism as also in Solyndra. Taking tax dollars and picking winners and losers. Thank God we didn't have that when home computers geeks were racing to see who was more inventive. You wouldn't be using it right now to protest the very thing that brought you the ability to post it.

I didn't say anything about these being directly associated with our President Obama, although names listed him as their associates.

kaysbrew, it would help if you would focus on the subject. We can all agree there are bad people out there on both the left and right, but why do you people continually deflect the issue by talking about other people? Does it hurt a little bit that your "savior" wrapped in capitalism, crosses and cronyism is just a much a political tool as the people you rail against?

""It doesn't matter who breaks the law--it's the law.
I wouldn't be surprised if this happens frequently on both sides of the political aisle. It's human nature.
I'm still behind Walker.""
That is an excellent post!! So what law would Scott Walker have to break to lose your support? My contention is that this guy could do anything he wants and his supporters are so blinded by talk radio and the like that they will follow him right into the fire, reminds me of David Koresh.

Kay- thats a lot of typing for a fox news reach. Funny thing is after that Glenn Beck/SHawn Hannity like rant, and Obummer will be re-elected? Funniest thing about that is? Nothing about Scott Walker, giving up on your Eagle scout and trying to divert attention? LOL, SQUIRREL!!

I wonder how long till they admit John Doe is Governor Walker think about that it’s his aides that are getting into trouble. Sorry Koch_Bros you better take your money elsewhere I think your boy Walker is on his way out so go elsewhere with your money you do not have enough to buy this state which is not for sale that is if you are the Koch_Bros the people of Wisconsin own this state and not you what made you think you could even buy this state in the first place. You will learn a hard lesson come June 5th not even you with your money can stop this recall. DO NOT ATEMPT TO PUT ME DOWN I am my own man that earned everything I have in my life and that is not for sale ever even if you spent every last dime you have and this state in NOT FOR SALE. You will also find out that the people of this community cannot be bought and that is what will make the difference the people of Wisconsin will decide this recall and not your money. Come June 5th you will see.

Yawn, the selective enforcement of this law is getting tiresome. This happens constantly on both sides it has been documented and anyone with a brain can find it, but we would rather use it for political reasons rather than its intended purpose. Nice!

Rindfleisch waved her right to a preliminary hearing a couple of weeks ago, I expect a plea deal on reduced charges is already in place in exchange for her evidence/testimony against "John Doe". The noose tightens.

Are you ready for this? Another one bites the dust. And another one gone! Another one bites the dust! Probably a good time to add the Scotty name into the song along with the John Doe investigation. Walker has no idea what the others have said in the John Doe investigation and that is why he is worried. His office was 20 - 30 feet from the secret computer network in the Milwaukee County office and he claims to know nothing. Is felony perjury a possible charge against Walker? walkerinvestigation.com
